Report article RSS Feed Celeritas Eos Equilibrium of the Night FAQ Incoming

Just an article asking what the community would like to see in the FAQ for EoTN.

Posted by KnightofEquulei on Jul 1st, 2013

I'll be creating a FAQ soon for Equilibrium of the Night. Naturally I already have some typical questions one would ask for a module of this nature and the answers ready but I'll like to answer more questions from the community so use the comment box below to type in your question asking about the mod and it'll get answered in the upcoming FAQ. It can be anything that comes to your mind.

I also have a question myself to ask. Would you guys be interested in sharing your progress through Equilibrium of the Night once it releases? I.e. using the video section to upload your gameplay videos/walk-throughs and achievements? Once the mod releases I'd like the community to continue to be active while the next entry in the series is developed but I'll need to know if the community will be interested in adding images/videos to this page otherwise I'll be unlocking access on this page for nothing but the odd troll/spammer who could come along to post unrelated content. I'm not planning as many updates for the sequel to EoTN so having an active community posting content will ensure this page stays alive along with the community itself showing their walk-throughs, character builds, triumphs over tough enemies and so on. Also seeing how other players play through the mod would greatly help me when designing new content for later modules.

I am not the sort of person who likes to post pictures or videos (never made the latter ones anyway), but I am interested in sharing my experiences in written form.

Now, the question: If we get ideas during the play, are you open to doing additions to the module (assuming of course if you like said ideas and they fit the module)?

Perhaps especially if the demand is high enough but after Equilibrium of the Night releases most of my efforts will be focused on its sequel hence why EoTN has already gone through extensive bug testing by myself (and right before release there will be several bug testers to play through it) so it releases completely polished.

Would you have anything against modifications to the mod?

I might share my progress through the game if I remember to do so, and if I'm not too lazy.

Looking forward to reading the FAQ! Always liked doing that for some reason...

Are you not planning to upload the module on the vault?

Since this mod is not going to be a linear one, like you said in the previous article, I really would want a walkthrough. It would be really helpful for a player like me. I'm the kind of player who play a game for the 'fun' factor. I don't like getting stressed or confused while trying to solve a puzzle or quest, or things that I might miss. Lol.

Just like PolarMouse, I could share my experience playing your mod in written form. Not pics or videos though.

So, the question is: Will there be a walkthrough to guide players just like Lamb does with her Demonheart series?

1) Not likely. What need is there when this mod has its own Moddb page?

2) Maybe but certainly not written by me! The many different quests, paths, outcomes and variables are simply too many for me to write about. I'll be spending a week - maybe more - writing a complete walkthrough. I'd rather spend that time on developing the sequel.

Without a walk-through I don't think you will get stressed playing the game. You'll probably miss stuff but quite a lot of the stuff can't be completed in one play-through anyway due to choices, character build and your party.

There will be people asking for help when this mod is released. Having a place to ask for help and look for answers will be very helpful.

Uploading to the vault or even just linking to the Moddb page could bring in more publicity. Not everyone is aware that this project exists and there's still a pretty active community there.

Maybe the linking could be done (i.e creating a news article) but I find the mod management on that site to be poor.

It might be like that but I believe the more places where the mod is available, the better. Imagine one of the websites closing down and people can't access your mod. It's always good to have some backups on the net.

I may post on the vault at a latter time but Moddb, Social Bioware and NWN Nexus will be my prime targets at first because I have accounts on these. I might also post on the new backup vault that has arose recently.
