Hey everyone, I finally got a chance to drop onto here and post the latest info that I can, I'm up quite late so I can do this so I hope some people actually read it haha.
First off I will let you know that I have begun work on the version that will be released on New Vegas, mainly testing out some things to see what I can do with the engine, if there's anything new compared to when it was used for Oblivion and such, turns out there's quite a bit I will be able to do with New Vegas so I will be working on that quite a bit since last I checked there aren't any New Vegas mods at all on ModDB, would be great to have the first slot for the game just to say I did.
To begin with there wont be much depth in the New Vegas edition, the Brotherhood of Steel will be in control of the gate to start off with. There will be one world planned for the first released, with a similar structure to the Oblivion edition, where planets will be separate from each other and added like DLC. Considering the new faction alignment system many people will likely complain about the BoS being in control of the gate, which is why you will have the option to have any other existing faction or even a new one to take control of the base, this will be done by a simple quest, you will receive this on next time you play the game. The quest will give you a main objective to go speak to the BoS standing around outside the bunker, and it will also include a list of optional objectives, one for each faction, I will be adding underground bunkers for each faction scattered across the Mojave, these will be where you go to select that particular faction to take control, you can only choose one and once you do you cannot change your mind. If you are Vilified with all factions then choose the new one I will be creating for this purpose. If you become Vilified with them then don't come crying to me about it.
Once in control you will be given a couple minor quests to get the gate running and establish a base around the perimeter of the gate on the other side, this will be as far as that mod goes quest wise in the first version, which I will label a demo for now since it will just be a taste of the mod to come.
Righty, on to Oblivions progress, I will be keeping the same story previously mentioned, any changes I've made really aren't worth mentioning as they are mainly things you wont notice anyway. I have no screens yet as I'm still having some texture problems and pretty much want it looking exactly how I want before uploading anything. The camp and first world (the one on the other side of the oblivion gate) are done, the quest has been started on, and I'm working on the first full on planet too, there are some problems I'm stumbling blindly into but really I'm still learning as I go so that's expected really.
Not nearly as much to say here for Oblivion compared to the New Vegas news but that's because I'm doing a lot of the back-end work, like touching up textures, models and stuff, nothing worth mentioning really.
One thing I'm scared to touch on really as I cant promise anything, I previously set it to the 31st October because I was expecting to have more progress than I have done so far, but college work and some personal things have set me back time wise, for now if I keep going at the rate I am I should have the Oblivion version done around Christmas/New Years (correct Christmas to Holidays and heads will roll). New Vegas I am wanting to finish before Oblivion, as there is less to do for it, and currently my Oblivion keeps crashing (with and without mods) so I will need to re-install and set it up again for the mod to continue, I have been working too long with Oblivion and need a break from it so New Vegas gets priority for a few reasons just now, I will release the Demo and return to progress on Oblivions version. So if you don't read this news then I will know because then you will have asked when the mod will be released.
I will be posting the New Vegas edition page when its released, so no previews/screenshots or anything other than progress news on my website (Down for maintenance right now).
Check back in a few days for the link to my new website specifically for this mod, I will be using it to release shorter posts of progress, as someone wanted me to post on Tumblr or something like that and I have no intention on signing up for yet another thing just to post progress sorry.
