Post news Report RSS Taking it to C&C3

After a long discussion, the Hell Blow out team have decided that C&C3 is a better game for our mod.

Hi there!
It's been a long time since we updated. Like I said before, all of the mod's members are busy with real life. Never mind that now! We are slowly getting back to work and have MAJOR news for you!

We have decided to move Hell Blow Out to Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars.

I know that some people will be disappointed by this but it's a choice we had to make because C&C3's SAGE, although limiting in many ways, is a lot better than ZH's engine. This way our mod will be more enjoyable because of the new graphics.

Stay tuned for further news,
the Hell Blow Out team!

I know lots of people prefer zero hour but let me tell you that ZH's SAGE is so limiting that you would prefer anything besides it. C&C3 was the best choice. Reasons:

#1 When it comes to art, C&C3's engine gives me a much higher polycount to mess with so models will at least 10 times better looking than ZH's models. Plus animating is better because the skeletons used in C&C3 are far better than ZH's ones.

#2 Although quite different engines, C&C3's and ZH's engines offer a lot of similarities so any C&C coder can do the job (with a little practice of course).

#3 For those who don't have C&C3, that's a shame. I suggest to go an buy it now. It works quite good on old school PCs. It's a wonderful game and as fun as generals.

#4 C&C3 is growing community. Let's face it: by the time we finish the mod Zero Hour would be at it's graves.

#5 When we switch the mod to C&C3, we will convert it's world to Generals world. That means no tiberium, no aliens, no science fiction stuff. We will stick to the main goal of the mod which: REAL TIME KOREAN WAR like in mercenaries1.

#6 Particles are a lot more diverse in C&C3. This way you'll enjoy more beautiful explosions, fires and smoke.

I really hope you understand that and I'm sorry if you stop watching the mod because of the decision we made.
Of course you can just say **** you or screw you or you can give constructive criticism. But if you stick to bad language you can simply go away as will NOT make the mistake of modding for zero hour like a LOT of people did. Almost all people these days have computers that can at least handle C&C3, and C&C3's modding community is growing.
Plus, there are TONS of other mods for Zero Hour that are worth playing. Just go to: Moddb.com and choose whatever you want.

I don't understand why people don't want to get it because it is a wonderful game in every way possible. The campaign is breathtaking and skirmish is more fun than ever. You can say that C&C3 is slightly better than generals.
