Welcome Ladies and Gents to another week and another update.

The Soviet Union's ground arsenal is a formidable force, responsible for much of its military capabilities. It demonstrates strength and effectiveness in keeping potential enemies at bay. However, there exists a significant vulnerability that, if left unaddressed, could potentially jeopardize the entire military structure. The primary concern for the USSR army resides in the formidable might of the American Air Force. Without the necessary capabilities to deter this threat, the ground forces of the Soviet Union would be rendered significantly less potent and potentially ineffective.

The United States' military prowess, particularly its Air Force, posed a significant challenge to the Soviet Union. The technological advancements and superior air power possessed by the American Forces provided them with a strategic advantage that the USSR had to contend with. The ability of the American Air Force to launch devastating airstrikes, conduct effective reconnaissance, and provide aerial support to ground troops greatly enhanced their military capabilities.

In order to ensure the viability of the USSR's ground forces, it was imperative to address this vulnerability and find ways to counter the formidable threat posed by the American military. The Soviet Union recognized the need to invest in advanced air defense systems and anti-aircraft weaponry to neutralize the aerial superiority of the United States. Additionally, they focused on improving their own air capabilities, including the development of advanced fighter aircraft and strategic bombers.

the Soviet Union sought to enhance its ground-to-air missile systems, such as the highly effective the S-400 systems, which significantly bolstered their air defense capabilities. These systems provided a robust shield against potential aerial attacks and helped to level the playing field against the American Air Force.

While the S-400 system is undoubtedly effective and capable, it is primarily designed to protect stationary military installations and vital positions rather than mobile units. This is where the importance of low to medium-altitude anti-aircraft vehicles comes into play, and the Soviet Union recognized this need. To fulfill this role, the USSR selected the Tunguska system.

The Tunguska, also known as the 2K22, proved to be a crucial asset in the Soviet Union's arsenal. It was specifically designed to provide mobile air defense for ground forces. Equipped with a formidable array of weaponry, the Tunguska boasted a combination of 30mm anti-aircraft guns and eight anti-air and anti-tank missiles.

The 30mm anti-aircraft guns possessed impressive firepower, capable of engaging and neutralizing a wide range of airborne threats, including helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, and low-flying aircraft. With a rapid rate of fire and accurate targeting capabilities, the Tunguska's guns could effectively suppress and destroy incoming aerial targets.

In addition to its anti-aircraft guns, the Tunguska featured eight anti-air and anti-tank missiles. These missiles, known as 9M311, were designed to engage both airborne threats and armored vehicles. With their guidance systems and target-tracking capabilities, the Tunguska missiles could engage and neutralize enemy aircraft and even heavily armored targets with precision.
