A Star Wars/Dark Forces themed gameplay mod for GZDoom. Taking elements from both Star Wars cannon and legends. Replaces all weapons, enemies and items with Star Wars themed assets. Gameplay is changed quite a lot, but attempts to keep some of the balance of Doom. Most projectiles are 3d models of Star Wars blaster effects. Infighting is also rare and usually only happens between imperials, aliens and bounty hunters (they won't attack their own team). The Icon of Sin is also replaced with a more traditional boss enemy, Emperor Palpatine. You can play as Kyle Katarn or Mara Jade and find lightsabers and unlock force powers, or you can start off as a Jedi. You can also go without the force and play as a rebel trooper or smuggler, each with their own starting weapons, or even go adventurous as the Mandalorian armed with a wrist launcher that boasts several different abilities. You can also customize your experience by changing enemies to different factions, and loading optional add-ons.

CONTROLS
FIRE - Performs the main attack of the weapon.
ALT-FIRE - Most weapons have an alternate attack, if they don't then pressing alt-fire simply triggers the primary attack
ZOOM - Any weapon with a scope can be used, this key is also used for saber throw while using the lightsaber with force powers unlocked
WEAPON STATE 1 - Use the force! (After unlocking force powers)
WEAPON STATE 2 & 3 - Select force powers
WEAPON STATE 4 - Recharge force power, crouching will recharge faster as will not holding a weapon (except for the lightsaber).
ITEM KEYS - Make sure you bind your keys for using and selecting items
CLASSES
Katarn: Kyle Katarn is the main hero of Dark Forces. He started off as a rebel mercenary and eventually became a jedi master. This is the core class of the game, you start off with a Bryar pistol and one of each grenade. You can find lightsabers and unlock force powers.
Jedi: This class is similar to the Katarn class, except you start off with a lightsaber and basic force powers.
Trooper: This class does not use a lightsaber or force powers, instead you get the X-21 Shock Gloves. You also start off with a Merr-Sonn Shock Baton and an A280 Blaster Rifle.
WEAPONS
Slot 1:
Fists, typical unarmed attack. Is silent. Alt-fire does a kick.
The Lightsaber, the weapon of a Jedi. Alt-fire lets you deflect projectiles, but be careful you're not invincible. Pressing the reload key switches the blade color. Zoom, does a saber throw attack once force powers are unlocked. Finding lightsabers will unlock your force powers. Replaces the chainsaw.
Slot 2:
Bryar Pistol, shoots a weak blaster shot, alt-fire charges up a more powerful attack. Uses blaster packs. Replaces the pistol.
DL-44 Heavy Pistol, shoots a strong blaster shot, alt-fire is the punch. This weapon has the 'zoom' function. Use power clips. Dropped by Imperial officers and Rodian bounty hunters.
SD-77 Sonic Pistol, shoots a blast of sonic energy, not effective at all on droids but otherwise does decent damage, especially on animals. Alt-fire is the punch. Dropped by Imperial Admirals.
Slot 3:
E-11 Blaster Rifle, standard Storm Trooper rifle. Fires rapid fire blaster shots, alt-fire shoots a stun ray. Has 'zoom' function. Uses blaster packs. Dropped by various Imperial troopers and spawns with shotguns.
EE-3 Carbine Rifle, a semi-auto blaster that shoots blaster bolts with double the energy. Primary shoots three round bursts, alt-fire does a single shot. Has 'zoom' function. Uses blaster packs. Spawns with supershotguns.
Slot 4:
DLT-19 Heavy Blaster, shoots blaster bolts at a very high rate of fire. Alt-fire shoots a single powerful blast. Uses blaster packs. Dropped by Heavy Stormtroopers and spawns with chainguns.
DEMP Ion Blaster, shoots ionized blaster bolts that do extra damage on droids and mechs. Alt-fire charges up a destructive EM pulse blast. Uses power clips. Spawns with shotguns.
Slot 5:
Imperial Repeater Gun, shoots strong blaster bolts at high rate of fire. Alt-fire does a "tri-shot". Uses bolt clips. Dropped by Shock Stormtroopers and spawns with chainguns.
FC-1 Flechette Launcher, fires a wide spread of bolts. Alt-fire shoots two mini grenades. Uses bolt clips. Spawns with super shotguns.
Slot 6:
DC-15x Sniper Rifle, fires a strong and accurate blaster shot. Alt-fire shoots a beam that you can "sweep" to hit multiple targets. Obviously has a 'zoom' function. Uses power clips. Dropped by scout troopers and spawns with shotguns.
Wookie Bowcaster, fires powerful but slow moving projectile, can be charged to shoot up to 5 shots. Alt-fire shoots bouncing projectiles at a slightly higher rate. Has 'zoom' function. Uses power clips. Spawns with super shotguns.
Slot 7:
Jeron Fusion Cutter, a tool that can be used as a weapon. Has four barrels that can be fired from rapidly, or all at once with Alt-Fire. Uses plasma cells. Spawns with plasma rifles.
Oppressor Flamethrower, shoots a short-range stream of flames. Alt-fire will spew a stronger flame that bounces off surfaces. Uses plasma cells. Spawns with plasma rifles.
Slot 8:
Packered Mortar Gun, launches a powerful mortar shell at a long distance. Alt-fire launches the mortar with less force allowing it to bounce off floors and walls. Uses mortar shells. Spawns with rocket launchers.
PLX Missile Launcher, launches a high-speed missile, alt-fire shoots a seeking missile that homes into the closest target (be careful!). Has 'zoom' function. Spawns with rocket launchers.
Slot 9:
Stouker Concussion Rifle, fires a powerful blast of plasma causing spread damage but keeps the shooter safe, acting as a weaker yet more versatile BFG. Alt-fire shoots precise coiling beam that rips through targets. Uses plasma cells. Spawns with the BFG9000.
Dark Trooper Assault Cannon, fires plasma blasts at a quick rate, alt-fire launches a powerful plasma missile. Uses plasma cells and plasma rockets. Spawns with the BFG9000.
Slot 0:
Thermal Detonators, can be held down to be thrown further, alt-fire has bouncing projectiles.
Ion Grenades, similar to the thermal detonator but is more effective against droids and mechs.
I.M. Mines, can be placed stealthily around as traps for enemies, alt-fire switches between timed and proximity mode.
Remote Detpacks, can be placed around on surfaces and objects, alt-fire detonates all detpacks that have been placed.
Special Weapons:
A280 Blaster Rifle, the standard blaster rifle used by soldiers in the rebellion and New Republic. Fires slower compared to the E-11, but is stronger and more accurate. Goes on slot 3. Rare chanced to be dropped by Rebel Captains.
Death Trooper E-11D Rifle, weilded by the elite deathtroopers. Fires much faster and more accurately then the standard E-11, with faster moving bolts. Has 'zoom' function. Uses blaster packs. This weapon pairs with the E-11 Blaster Rifle (Slot 3), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
DEMP 2 Ion Carbine, shoots a destructive EM pulse blast that does extra damage on droids and mechs. Alt-fire charges up for more powerful shots. Has 'zoom' function. This weapon pairs with the DEMP Ion Blaster (Slot 4), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
Z-6 Rotary Blaster, fires blaster bolts at maximum speed, alt-fire shoots ion bolts. Uses blaster packs and power clips. This weapon pairs with the E-11 Blaster Rifle, press “Reload” to switch between the weapons. This weapon pairs with the DLT-19 Heavy Blaster (Slot 4), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
BlasTech Gyrojet Gun, shoots rapid fire air rockets, with little recoil. Alt-fire is a “tri-shot. This weapon pairs with the Imperial Repeater Gun (Slot 5), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
Tenloss DXR-6 Disruptor Rifle, shoots with strong firepower at a medium rate of fire. Alt-fire mode attacks targets at the molecular level, effectively disintegrating them. Has 'zoom' function. This weapon pairs with the DC-15x Sniper Rifle (Slot 6), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
Mark V Goob Gun, a fusion cutter modified into a powerful weapon. This weapon pairs with the Jeron Fusion Cutter (Slot 7), press “Reload” to switch between the weapons.
FORCE POWERS
After finding a second lightsaber, you unlock force powers. You'll unlock more force powers after finding more lightsabers. Force powers consume force energy (which is added to the hud).
Push : Pushes back enemies in short radius (-5 force power)
Pull: Pulls enemies and objects towards the user (-5 force power)
Heal: Restores a small amount of health (-20 force power)
Choke: Damages organic enemies by cutting off their breating (-15 force power)
Mindtrick: Temporarily turns “weak-minded” enemies harmless, by causing them to wander around confused. (-25 force power)
Lightning : An electric bolt that chains through foes, does extra damage against mechanical foes (-10 force power)
Saber Throw : Press "Zoom" while using your lightsaber to use the force to throw your lightsaber at enemies (-15 force power)
ENEMIES
Stormtrooper, basic imperial soldier. There are a few variants with shoulder pads and tougher armour. Spawns with zombiemen and shotgunners.
Scout Trooper, imperial scouts that are either armed with a E-11 or a sniper rifle. Spawns with imps and chaingunners.
Shock Trooper, stormtroopers armed with a repeater. Spawns with shotgunners
Heavy Trooper, armed with a DLT heavy blaster. Spawns with chaingunners.
Jet Trooper, stormtroopers with jetpacks. They're armed with a sonic rifle and remote droids. Spawns with Pain Elementals.
Death Trooper, elite stormtroopers armed with an elite e-11. Spawns with Hellknights.
Imperial Royal Guard, the emperor's elite guard, armed with a lightning rod. Spawns with Hellknights.
Imperial Officer, armed with blaster pistols. Has two variants. Spawns with zombiemen, shotgunners and imps.
Imperial Admiral, the third variant of the officer, armed with a sonic pistol. Spawns with chaingunners.
Imperial Gunner-Engineer, heavily armored engineers that work on heavy weapon systems. Spawns with chaingunners.
Imperial Medic, imperial officers that heal fallen troopers on the battle field. Spawns with chaingunners.
Imperial Commando, armed with an E-11 which they relentlessly shoot you with. Spawns with chaingunners.
Heavy Commando, armed with a concussion rifle and a shield generator, making them harder to fight. Replaces the Mancubus.
Interrogation Droid, flies around and tries to shock you or shoot energy blasts. Spawns with Lost Souls.
Sentry Droid, small floating droids armed with a blaster. Spawns with Lost Souls.
Probe Droid, the main scout unit of the empire, fires a powerful blaster shot. Replaces the Cacodemons.
Heavy Probe Droid, the probe droid meets the Arachnotron. (Sorry, not sure who made the sprite but I like it!)
Gammorrean Guard, big fat tough pig men armed with battle axes. Spawns with pinkies.
Tusken Raider, armed with a gaffi stick and an endless supply of throwing rocks. Spawns with pinkies.
Kell Dragon, nasty lizards that come in different sizes. Spawns with pinkies.
Wampa, large white haired beasts, armed with massive claws. Spawns with pinkies.
Rodian Bounty Hunter, weak alien bounty hunters armed with heavy pistols. Spawns with zombiemen and shotgunners.
Gran Bounty Hunter, three-eyed aliens armed with thermal detonators and a sonic rifle. Spawns with Revenants.
Trandoshan Bounty Hunter, lizardmen armed with a concussion rifle. Spawns with Revenants.
Reborn Acolyte, imperial officers infused with the dark side. They use their lightsabers and force push to attack. They can also deflect attacks with their lightsaber. Fun to saber-duel with. Spawns with Spectres.
Reborn Sith, stronger reborns that can attack with force lightning. They can also revive their fallen allies. Very hard to saber-duel with. Spawns with the Arch Vile.
Dark Trooper (Phase 1), imperial war droids armed with a large bladed arm. They can also deflect attacks with their shield. Spawns with Spectres.
Dark Trooper (Phase 2), large imperial war droids equipt with a jetpack and an Assault Cannon. Replaces the Baron of Hell.
Dark Trooper (Phase 3), massive imperial war mechs. They relentlessly blast plasma, launch a wave of 'floating mines' and also jetpack and launch missiles. Replaces the Spider Mastermind.
AT-ST, an imperial mech that blasts massive green blaster bolts and missiles. Replaces the Cyberdemon.
Boba Fett, the infamous Mandalorian-armor-wearing bounty hunter. Flies around and attacks you from afar with a rapid blaster and seeking rockets, or close range with his wrist mounted flamethrower. Rarely spawns with the Pain Elemental.
Darth Vader, you know him, you fear him. He attacks with his lightsaber and force powers. He can also revive fallen allies. Rarely spawns with the Arch Vile.
Emperor Palpatine, the emperor is back and he is not amused with you! He has three different lightning attacks and floats around with his chair. Replaces the Icon of Sin.
ITEMS
Bacta Tanks, restores your health. Small ones give you bonus health.
Shield Generators, replaces the armors. Picking up an item will simply add to your shields, so you can pick them up whenever you want.
Portable Stimpack, heals a small amount of health. Is used automatically when health drops below 50%
Radiation Filter Mask, portable version of the radiation suit.
Light Amplification Visor, portable version of the light amp visor.
Weapon Charge Pack, doubles your firing speed for thirty seconds. Replaces Berserk.
Stealth Field Generator, can be activated to make the player harder to see. Using a second stealth generator will make you fully invisible.
Invulnerability Shield, makes you fully immune to damage for a short period.
Force Life, appear as special "rebel logo power-ups". The red ones give you 100 health and replace the soul sphere. The green ones give you 200 health and 300 shields, replacing the mega sphere.

I played the older version before but this one crashes. Does the new version only work on gzdoom and not zandronum?

Whenever I feel like it pretty much. I don't have a set schedule.
If there's something I feel like adding to it then I will. I have slowed down recently, but I've got some plans for some new stuff later, which will be out "when it's done". ;P
If I do another major update I'll try and make it a new file, but if there's some minor stuff than I might go back to just replacing the old file.
I got into this mod a few days ago, and I am hooked. Thank you so much for all of this. I'll give feedback at a later time. All I have as of now is stuff regarding the texture pack (stuff not mentioned in the known issues), but I know you mentioned its not perfect.
for some reason it refuses to load on gzdoom, is there any way to get it to work on there?

UPDATE 4/2/20
-Detpacks have been re-coded so that they should work in multiplayer now (before players could detonate each other's deployed detpacks) they also have a new graphic (from Jedi Outcast/Academy) and they now properly stick to enemies (still float if they were on a moving platform though) the remote is also now shown during the ready state
-New special weapon: DEMP 2, upgrade to Ion Blaster (dropped rarely by spider probes)
-A280 Blaster Rifle ROF is increased but stil slightly slower than the E-11 (keep it mind the A280 does slightly better damage on average too)
-Flechette launcher alt-fire's spread has been adjusted
-PLX missile launcher's HUD sprite has been fixed up a bit for widescreen
-Got rid of the scout sniper's custom movement for now (it was a little glitchy)
-Phase Zero Dark Trooper no longer shows a shooting frame while landing after jet-jumping
-Stormtrooper no longer shows a shooting frame while being revived
-Replaced hanging baron texture with a hanging droid in the textures pack
-Updated Weapons and Enemies only patches (separate downloads)
BUG FIX UPDATE
DEMP-2 weapon wasn't set up for Jedi and Trooper classes, disabling the player from switching weapons, should be fixed now
