The Story Thus Far: The Year is 2006, and a lot has happened. American and European forces alike have been attacked more and more in the East, and its only getting worse. Both the US and the EU didn’t really see it as a big threat, until a large supply column for US and European troops was completely destroyed by an ambush of enemy tanks. Those tanks however, were not some old WW2 left overs. They were the latest line of tanks produced in the East. After this, the US quickly found out that a few random terror cells are incapable of such attacks, and they sent additional forces to investigate. Check Here for the full story

The World Rebellion mod hits the second year.

Officialy it started on the 16th of May 2004, though it actually started somewhat earlier on the Forums

A brief history:

When we first started, it was me (Thierry), Osey (Mapper & Modeler) and Gazdude (Modeler) at the time.

We had no experience whatsoever on modding Generals, just some very basic modeling skill. That's how we started out in May and the models we showed way back then were low quality, especially compared to what we can do now.
We often posted a model every day, but it was purely a model, no coding whatsoever.

Somewhere around July that changed, we figured out how to get stuff ingame, well....skinned anyway.
And thus some very early screenshots started popping up, even though it was all low quality and mostly still just renders.

Most of that work can be found on the first page of our Screenshots and Models Page.

In August we a small team change and we actually got our very first working unit ingame, skinned and coded (a bit). At the time it was the RAC Heavy tank, we were happy with it then, but now its pretty bad and actually amusing to see.

Its polygon count was off the charts in comparison, and its skin wasn't very detailed.

None the less, we got actually were able to get unit ingame back then.
This was the RAC Heavy tank at the time, which is very low compared to what we can do now:

The tank on top is the old RAC Heavy tank, not in use ofcourse. It had 3 times the amount of polygons the Ariete tank has, which is seen below.
This is the difference between a couple of months of experience.

It was around this time we stopped working on making a lots of low class models, and started slowing down and making better models as time went on.

Team members changed througout the year and we got better in all aspects, which can be seen when you go to the final pages of the Screenshots and Models page.

At around now, the Team is about 4 big, compared to any other modding team thats tiny, and we've had many reqeusts for staff, but we haven't really gotten anything back, so 4 it is.

They include me ofcourse, Osey (who's the only one whos still part of the original team after 12 months), our sound artist and photoshop artist.

Luckily, I know some coding and we've all gotten a lot more experience and hopefully we'll keep getting better as time goes on and on.

About the current status:

Progress is a bit slower then usual, mainly to do with the fact that my education is really rearing up and I'm still the only skinner. Models are going good though, it will just take a while longer to skin them.
