One final push...

News 3 comments

Hey guys. The War Chronicles team is happy to announce that we are now making final preperations for our first release.

We have recently been working tirelessly to bring you the carnage of the korean war in arma 3. Were now ready to announce what the first release will contain and focus on. Our first release will contain both American forces and the North Koreans.

North Korean forces will be equiped with:

Type 99 Arisaka Rifle

Type 99 Lmg

Type 100 Smg

SVT40 Semi automatic rifle (WIP)

Nambu type 14 (WIP)

American forces will be equiped with:

M1 Garand

Springfield sniper Rifle

Thompson Smg

M1911 Pistol (WIP)

M1918 BAR (WIP)

Both Forces will also have their own uniforms in the release, and preset groups (squads, teams , LMG sections etc.) will also be prepared. This is only an early, far from finished product that we will continue to add to in the coming months, but we look forward to releasing our mod to the community and hope you enjoy playing. We plan on a release estimate of roughly 4-6 weeks, depending on how certain assets are turning out.

Happy gaming from the War Chronicles team!

I just had an idea. I saw you are now using some stuff from the Faces of War mod. They in fact merged with Hell in The Pacific and shared some assets with each other. They have some Japanese stuff that would fit perfect in this mod.

Battlefield: Korea mod uses the same model of the Type 95 Ha-Go Japanese tank, since the guy who made that model worked for the BF2 mod Forgotten Hope 2, and it was added there and shared with us. The model is really nice, it would fit in this mod really well. We use the tank on the Chinese side in our mod to go up against our M8 Greyhound since they are both really filling the anti infantry vehicle role as they both have 37mm cannons.

I don't understand. Why are you guys making all the weapons from the ground up? As admirable as it is, it's pretty time-consuming. There are a lot of assets that can be borrowed from Unsung, Ironfront, Faces of War. RHS: GREF and etc. Not that i'm saying it would be easy. But i'm just wondering as to why you guys need to make stuff from scratch. Good job btw. And good luck. :D

It's just how we want to work really. Although we do plan on using IFA3 assets as placeholders so it'll be a requirement for a while, Unsung has a lot of assets we don't need and as they are still porting a lot of their stuff from A2 it doesn't look great at the moment, Faces of War is comprised of mostly former WC modders and is itself becoming an expansion for IF last I heard, and RHS:GREF is not open source so we'd have to have the whole mod as a requirement which is not something we particularly want
