I thought the sks was fed by a clip similar to a k98, or maybe this is a version of the sks that used banana mags?

There are 3 ways to load the SKS: Top 10 round stripper clip, single shot by hand and versions were done to fit a AK47 clip ;) (from 1962)

That SKS-M was made years and years after the Vietnam war, it was exported to the US for American sportsmen, it never saw military use.

You know, In Vietnam war not many soldeirs have clips form AK-47. And more of them used normal stripper clip or one by one. AND this SKS looks very familiar to normal AK-47, doesn't it?

This model is inaccurate the the Vietnemese had no SKS's that had detachable AK47 magazines, they only could be fed through the top with a stripper clip.

The weapon however existed at that time and to be frank its either that or having a crappy animation that people will complain about. Sorry :/

I highly doubt your SKS-M was made in 1963.

Actually, the SKS-M was Manufactured in 1962 featuring the AK-47 style magazine, also known as the 'Bannana clip'. It is essentially an early carbine style rifle, such as the M1A1 Carbine, which later also had a 30 rd magazine. but this explains why ghost has a shorter barrel, which was customary for the SKS-M to have a shorter barrel than the Conventional SKS.

by the by awesome job on the mod, and this weapon is accurate if your placing this mod from 63' on.

Description

SKS Rifle model, based on Dice's Battlefield Vietnam - model + texture modded. Note the choice of using the AK47 Clip is mostly to avoid reload animation problems, it was however used during the Vietnam War.
