Uplink, introversion edition. Thread - Uplink OS mod for Uplink - Trust is a Weakness

I actually bought my copy of uplink from Introversion directly, so I'm wondering which version of the mod will work with it, GOG or Steam? Or neither?

Most probably GOG.

I can readily confirm, after 4 hours, it works with the original 1.54 executable from Introversion, patched to 1.55. This is from the CD included in a collector's tin (Darwinia, Multiwinia, DefCon and Uplink). So, I would imagine GOG is using that as their distribution base.

I want to update this thread with information on Uplink v1.31 for PC. This is the version I purchased on CD.

The default install location on Windows 10 for this version is C:\Program Files (x86)\Uplink or %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Uplink

The agent save game location on Windows 10 is C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Uplink or %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Uplink\

Updating this version to patch v1.55 works.

UplinkOS does not work for this install using Steam or GoG versions.

Fortunately you can just tell the v1.31 Uplink installer to install to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Uplink

then update to v1.55 and then install the UplinkOS for Steam mod. Everything will work at this point. I did not try this with the GoG folders.

So my CD copy is V1.0 and the steam app folder solution listed aboove will not work. Where does gog install their version? I might try that.

GOG installs it wherever you point it to, so I don't think that will help.
Did you try updating Uplink to 1.55, first? You can get the patch here: Introversion.co.uk
