Uplink OS is a total graphical modification to 2001's indie cult hit Uplink: Trust is a Weakness by Introversion Software. It aims to bring a fresh look to the game's cyberpunk visuals and a much needed upgrade to its interface and usability.

I've spent a good... 5-10 minutes or so clicking the 'Buy' button for Introversion stock, trying to figure out how much of it you can actually buy. While doing that, I realized the stock market seems to be one of the few features that hasn't been greatly improved quality-of-life-wise:

- Bypassers no longer need to be dropped onto their respective 'blocked' features;

- Bank accounts can now be switched to instead of always forcing you to use Uplink's bank, so don't have to transfer funds around every time you want to buy something or every time you hack a bank and throw it into a different account, etc;

- Deleting files and logs is done by normal methods/dealing with the interface or right-click or a simple 'delete,' copying/downloading done the same way, with CTRL + C, etc;

- Storage now broken up into voice, files, and apps so you don't accidentally delete an app while trying to go through and delete files no longer needed, can store voice files away without them getting in the way, don't have to deal with defrag, etc;

- Email and missions broken up so you can know the difference at a glance and no longer have a long list of icons at the bottom of the screen (Kind of wish there was an 'Archived' tab for emails, but that's minor);

- The map now has a more isolated viewing area, so dots aren't nearly as far apart as they were before;

- The password breaker can be clicked on to begin its run, instead of having to open the password breaker and hit the password entry immediately after or have to re-open or do other trickery.......

- This list goes on for a while.

But, the stocks have remained the same, and while I understand to some degree (As, likely, not many people actually use it... and even if they do, it's a very minor part of the game), it would be nice to have a little box next to 'Buy' and 'Sell' so you could input an amount and buy/sell that amount. Have it default to 10 every time you open the stock market (Since that's the current amount of buy/sell). It'd also be nice to have 'Public Shares: (Num)' above those boxes so we know what the maximum is we can buy.

If the intent is to make it seem like it's fluctuating like a normal stock market (Therefore, a 'public shares' would theoretically be constantly different), could still have the boxes and if the person inputs a number higher than the number of buyable shares, it could pop up with a screen informing them "Only X shares are available for purchase. Is this okay?"

Thanks!
