Onlink Thread - Uplink OS mod for Uplink - Trust is a Weakness

Hey! Not to be a complete bother, I know it's in the FAQ and I'm sure you've been asked this before, but is there any possibility of future Onlink support? I have no idea how the game is modified, so I'm sure that it's not a simple matter of putting your OS on top of that engine, but I was just curious as to if there are any plans in that direction

Unfortunately, no. It would require too much effort. Uplink doesn't support actual modding, like, for example Skyrim, where you can just add mods as "blocks". What it does is it gives you access to its actual source code and every mod you do, creates a different executable - basically a different game.

That means that merging two mods means you need to actually merge their code bases. Which is not a lot of fun to do since it will most likely require re-writes and what not.

I think the devs of Onlink said that it contains very little code left over from Uplink, so that'd be a guaranteed re-write.
