UMod TLD is the first mod for The Long Dark. Currently it has cheats and general gameplay improvements.
The mod is for v.282, it will not work with the new version.
How to install?
- Extract UmodTLD_1.31.zip
- Move "Assembly-CSharp.dll" and "UModTld.dll" to your "SteamApps\common\TheLongDark\tld_data\Managed" folder
- Run the game
- If you see UMod watermark on the top left corner when the menu has loaded the mod is working
General Gameplay Improvements
- While placing item you can rotate it with mousewheel or by holding shift key down and moving your mouse
- You can stack items on top of each other
- You can place items anywhere
Hotkeys
- F1 = Fly Mode
- F2 = Ghost Mode - This lets you walk right up to any mob and they wont run away or attack you
- F3 = Infinite Carry
- F4 = Max Item Condition
- F5 = Infinite Sprint
- 0 = Repair selected item (in inventory)
- + = Increase selected item count
- - = Decrease selected item count
- Delete = Delete selected item
- Control+H = Set player to max condition
Console (\ to open console or shift+\ to open full console)
- clear = Clear the console
- about = About this trainer
- additem = Add an item to your inventory (eg. additem flare)
- itemlist = Get a list of possible items
- list = List commands
- heal = Heal the player of all damage
- repair = Repair all items in your inventory
- hotkeys = List all hotkeys in
- pos = print player coordinates
- showPos = make the players location show on screen (toggle it on/off)
- deadAim = Add new crosshair and stop bow sway

Unfortunately no. It will not work on the new tld version either, and we won't be modding tld anymore because Hinterland is against modding.

Sure we could just say that **** Hinterland and continue modding, but there's not really a point in spending our time in making tld better if Hinterland does not even respect that. According to tld community manager, this is called hacking and code manipulation instead of modding. Hell, even talking about the sound files that can be found in the game folder is forbidden.
You can always hope that Hinterland will make these same changes to the game. Item stacking is just 1 line of code, so maybe they will get it ready for the full release ;)

The last part isn't true though. They only said that if they're ever going to add mod support it's after the game is finished, they didn't promise anything.
The roadmap for TLD actually says that there will be mod support eventually. Check it if you want: http:/ / hinterlandgames. com/the-long- dark/roadmap/ (it will be found under the ''Medium Term'' subheading. The link was also broken up due to guest restrictions).
Yes I know, they didn't have any roadmap back then. The mod support will change nothing though, since this most likely can't be done with the official modding tools.

You would replace it if you have v.282. If you have the newest version this doesn't work anymore and we're not continuing developing this mod.

Just because a developer doesn't support a mod doesn't mean they should stop. Currently, the community is behind you and you are being supported by them. This was one of the best mods for the long dark and it was an amazing project. Keep trying.
Keep going with this project and keep working with it. You will always have support from the community. Hinterland is a community that started on Kickstarter and for them to disrespect any other project, is awful, Maybe you could start a Kickstarter for help with the mod. See how much support you have.

Most of the community is with Hinterland, since they don't want unofficial mods. Developing this mod would take a lot of time and since the reaction was mostly negative we've moved to other projects. There's lot of interesting stuff you could do, I've been thinking about adding physics to in-game props, but since it would take lots of time and there aren't really that many people who would use the mod I've been working on other projects.
Money is really not the issue, so kickstarter wouldn't really change anything even if people paid for it (which I doubt, I wouldn't pay for this). Plus I don't even like idea of paid mods, I make mods just for fun.
The mod still does work with v.282 as the title says, but some people don't seem to read the title. There's really not much I can do about that, some people still download my old save editors even when the title says "OUTDATED" :P

As the mod title says and all of these comments the mod doesn't work with the newest version. Just use steam to verify the integrity of game cache to get everything back to normal. Support.steampowered.com
