Megatron with help of Soundwave gets access to Teletron-1 and takes information about place which have a colossal amount of energon - Solar System. Optimus Prime with autobot team defending the Space Bridge. He decided to leave Cybertron and go for an energon expedition. He leaves planet to his true comrades - Vector Prime,Ultra Magnus and neogenic autobot forces. In fact, they'll need to defend Cybertron from Megatron before Optimus Prime returns. But... The mod “Transformers HL” is a modification of the game Half-Life2. The project is based upon the Transformers universe, ( www.transformersonline.ru and En.wikipedia.org ) mostly the TV series like Generation 1, Masterforce, Headmasters, Victory and others. Several characters from the series are to be included in the mod, as well as some of our own creations.

Gengre: The mod is going to be a blend of Action and RPG elements.
Gametypes: Single and multiplayer parts are planned, with focus on the singleplayer experience.

Plan of work for the first months:

1.Assembling a team.
2.Building an Alpha version of the mod.
3.Testing and feedback.

Assembling a team – Required members

Coder:
Making the base of the modification. scripting, creation of the Transformation algorithm, programming movement, sound, animation and weapons. Experience with the Source SDK is a must.

Modeler:
Creating models for the game. Has to be able to work with models created by others, and making textures. Be ready to model Optimus and Megatron.

Texturer:
Must have experience with Source materials. Must have overall experience with textures, and be able to unwrap and texture models created by others.

The Transformation Algorithm

The process of transformation.

First suggestion:

1.The Player presses the button bound to the transformation function.
2.The Player model disappears, and he appears inside the Transform. Similar to the code in Half-Life2, when the player gets into the buggy, his model disappears, and controls are moved to steer the car.
3.Pressing the Transformation key again reverses the process.

Second suggestion:

1.Player is named Transformer. Pressing the Transform key alters the players functions, activating wheels, wings, other weapons.
2.Pressing the key again returns the variables to their default values: feet, arms, pistols.

Alpha Version of the mod

Content needed:

- Transformation Algorithm, any version, as long as it works.
- Transformer player model – nothing special here. Must be able to transform and function in both modes.
- A map to test on. Any map will do.

Testing

The Alpha will be available for public testing as soon as it is ready, since public feedback is a good thing.
