The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game. You will make a choice that does not matter You will follow a story that has no end You will play a game you cannot win ...it's actually best if you don't know anything about it before you play it :D

1/10 - Agree (3) Disagree (67)

Voice acting: pretty good / great for a mod

Narrative: tried too hard, predictable in the worst ways, more irritating than unoriginality

Mapping and design: absolutely ****, embarrassing

Everything else was unremarkable at best.

Listen, I see what you were trying to do here. I am genuinely glad that there are still people TRYING to do something different and artistic with a mod, but dude, you can not half-*** it like this. You could have followed the same theme and made the story less predictable and obvious, and you DEFINITELY should have learned to map or got a mapper, since that is what took away from the mod the most, because with good maps this at least could have been a memorable experience.

It is generous to say that the bulk of this mod falls flat. If I were rating this compared to other mods, it might be a 5 or so, but I am not. I am rating the experience in general, and it sucked. I was wincing at every new room in the map and felt sorry for the voice actors, seeing them waste such an exceptional performance on a mod like this. The nicest true thing I can say is that this had potential, and you seem to be capable of creating something interesting, but you are going to have to try harder. A lot harder.

Summary: It was really really ****, but thanks for at least trying to be creative.
