Quick Facts Product name: The Sharpest Point Latest version: 0.10b Product type: Modification Modification base: Battlefield 1942 Product theme: FPS / WW2 / Realism What is "The Sharpest Point"? The Sharpest Point, short TSP, is a WW2 modification for Battlefield 1942. TSP intends to make the game experience as realistic as possible. This modification is free to download and use, but still it demands a version of Battlefield 1942 in order to run! General idea of TSP The general idea of TSP is to create a FPS-modification, very realistic, but in the same time not too big and time-demaning. TSP is thought to be more in for action than for strategy - you should be able to just spend some short time gaming, not being bound to it! The vision is to make TSP a WW2 combat simulator. The TSP products are made out of assembled material, coming from many different sources and individuals. TSP always welcomes donations! Even though the products are free to download, all the material inside...

The reception
Now as TSP 0.10b has been in the air for a weekend through, I've got my first impression. Overall, I must say I'm very glad for the reception! Many people and external websites have done alot to help us, a big "thanks" goes to all of you!
Also, the people downloading it has showed surprisingly good attitude, and we've received lots of credit. This makes me very glad! What I miss is to have feeback about the bad elements, if you feel something isn't good enough or even "sucks", I'd love to know about it! As long as you're constructive in the feedback, the word is free!
A known issue is that even though we appreciate it very much, I honestly believe there were "too many" dedicated servers hosting TSP. As we are new here, not many players. Many servers and few players means low intensity, means the intensity will fade even more... Also, some servers is running "unwished settings" not thought to be used when running TSP. Just to say: we're very greatful for all the server hoster, just maybe there are to many? One dedicated strong public server each continent could just be enough!?
Further, some clients had problems installing this modification and/or use it, finding/connecting to servers etc. For this matter, we've begun the construction of a "User's Guide" (found in the forum). This forum will be filled with different guides and help. If you have any issues or things you'd like to see here, please let me know! For now, the TSP wishes for server hosting settings are published! I beg everyone running a dedicated server to follow these recommendations, as TSP won't play very good if not!

New adress!
New adress for TSP modification now is:
Tspmod.com
Hopefully this is easier to find and remember!?

Armed Forces (TSPAF)
As TSP isn't really constructed for public gaming, I understand if you'd feel some elements are "stupid". Just remember this: TSP is focusing on organized gaming, such as within communities, clans etc. We don't want to compromise the quality of organized gaming for the experience of public gaming.
If you see the potential of TSP, and would like to try how it would be to play this modification in a more organized way, please check out the "Armed Forces", TSPAF. We need reinforcements! Also, even as we call ourselves an "organized community", the demands aren't really hard - check the "Armed Forces" page and read about it!

The future
Considering this is 10% beta release only, there are not many unknown issues to deal with, but in overall TSP team is very pleased! Consider this release more like a "showoff", we've only been working on the product now and from for a couple of months! If you believe in the potential of TSP, we'd love if you want to contribute, in any way! Our next plans are to get some land vehicles ingame along with some other fixes on "our list" not found in 0.10b. If you want to see the detailed plans for next release (0.12b) you can see it in the dev forum! (if you are a registered member)

What we need most is:
x Modelers (REAL modelers, not just "3D picture" artists!!)
x A skilled menu coder

A big "thanks" to the community and everyone that've tried TSP!

Cheers!
