This is an unofficial patch for The Precursors from Deep Shadows. It
is publisher approved and works with the Russian retail release, the
online distributed Russian versions from gamepitstop.ru or yuplay.ru
and the English releases from GamersGate, Beamdog and finally Steam.
The patch is a cumulative release and includes all earlier versions!
The patch is provided "as is" and any warranties are disclaimed. The
free redistribution of the unchanged patch is permitted but it's not
allowed to use it as a base for derivative works without permission!

Installation:
-------------
To install the patch choose The Precursors installation directory as
destination, then select the components. The registry is not changed
but it can't be uninstalled! Thanks to Jordan Russel for Inno Setup.
Install the latest official patch before using this one and although
older saves should work, it's better to start a new game afterwards!
The voice-overs of movies and cutscenes were based upon the official
English version, the graphics were created from official webpages or
trailers and the translation is based on the English text in the 1.0
resource file. It was merged into the 1.1 version and improved a lot
whenever appropriate, also many issues and gameplay bugs were fixed!
Problems:
---------
To fix graphic issues try in 'Shared Documents' ini/videooptions.ini
RENDERLAG=1, DISABLESHADERMODEL30=1, DISABLE_ROTATION_MOTION_BLUR=1,
SMOOTHFPS=1, LIMITFPS=30, Weather Effects=1 or FOV=80 for widescreen
support. To fix flicker copy the ati folder and if you get blur when
talking, change ApplyDOF from 1.0 to 0 in all the postprocess files.
To fix missing sound effects install the Russian sound archive file.
On start crashes rename cyrillic game folder, disable desktop compo-
sition and any second monitor. If your ship drifts disable joystick!
Set controls not shown under Options manually in controlsettings.ini
like Keyboard Sensitivity, Afterburn, Extreme Break or camera views.
Internals:
----------
To enable the console set Enabled=1 in ENGINESETTINGS.INI, then open
it with the ~ key below ESC. Some known useful console commands are:
GOD god, SUPERGOD notarget, ALLWEAPONS all weapons, ALLMONEY credit,
SET CLIP = 1 flymode, PRINTPOINTEDCHAR info, ADDSID idnr add object,
DRAWHUD off/on, SIDEREL fc 1 +100 faction, add_hyperfuel 1 +50 fuel!
If you want to edit dialogues in resource.qrc, these are some infos.
Commands: CHECKMONEYx, GIVEMONEYx, TAKEMONEYx, SETRELx|y, ADDRELx|y,
GIVESIDx=y, TAKESIDx=y, GIVESIDTOSHIPx=y, TAKESIDTOSHIPx=y. MSG_IDs:
1 backpack, 2 upgrade weapon, 11 fill car, 12 fix car, 31 fix flyer,
32 fill flyer, 37 upgrade ship, 38 cargo, 39 fill ship, 40 fix ship.
Gameplay:
---------
Items and people in some places will only be there during the quest.
Don't pick up the free assault rifles in the second Imperial camp on
Reandore unless the camp is under attack, otherwise that quest stays
open. Return to Randall in the first camp even if the marker is off.
Don't be confused by the ending, they just couldn't finish the game!

for your cooperation? (I would take Xenus2 as an example) I’m able
to provide you with retail Russian version + unprotected .dll’s +
Russian patch 1.1. And if it possible for you to disassemble this
patch removing Russian text out of it and packing your proofread
text in, I think it will work perfectly. And end users will have
the version with performance optimization and good texts in it.
This patch will undoubtedly have credits to you in readme (or
called "Community patch 1.1 by Wesp5" if you want). Then we will
distribute it to all our partners who sell the game, noting them
that they must refer to you as its author. Is it acceptable?
Anyway, I must note that we won’t be able to call this patch
official (as it’s made not by the developers). But "supported
by Publisher", or "approved" or equally.

I have just got game on steam and i have installed your patch but i am unable to save anything it says saved but when i try to load nothing there and my settings never stay saved either
The saves are in the public network folder, so maybe you need to allow access to it.
Is it possible to use this patch for The Precursors in Russian or translate?
No, the qrc file I edited includes the language.

i have an issue with horrible mouse acceleration, turning it down in the menu doesnt seem to do anything. it speeds up and slows down very erratically, and it makes combat really unpleasant, i read that there is a patch for it called prec_mouse.rar which ican only find dead links for on old russian forums, or that it was included in the 1.1 patch.
I don't think this was ever fixed correctly, I usually disable it completely.
