McKool proudly presents the full version of The Mutant Factor, a single player modification for Crysis and Crysis Wars. This is a new single player campaign with a completely different story and a new set of characters. The Mutant Factor is heavily influenced by the Half-Life, Crysis, and F.E.A.R series of games. The player takes the roll of Phoenix, who is sent to investigate strange energy readings at a remote North Korean facility. While on the island, he begins seeing visions of his long lost daughter, Tara, which starts a cascading spiral between reality and possible insanity. After a horrific and bloody battle, he awakens to find himself trapped in an underground facility with only the voice of Dr. Marie Shepherd to guide him out....or is she the only voice? Ask yourself: Do you trust her?

Post news Report RSS The Mutant Factor Full Release Imminent! Help wanted on custom menu.

We're in the final stages of beta testing so I thought I would provide some more info regarding what to expect with the full version of the mod.I also want to put a feeler out there for help with the UI.

Changes from the demo:

  1. Revised story - The demo feels a bit disjointed so I reworked the story to be more cohesive throughout.
  2. New final chapter in the trilogy - Finally, you will get to see what happens after the end of the demo. If you haven't played the demo then all the better.Enjoy the story fresh!
  3. Reworked levels - I changed the 1st map entirely keeping only small bits of the original version. I also improved the 2nd level with all new floors, ceilings, props, decals, and lighting.
  4. Several new characters - Meet Phoenix, Darlene Simpson,Tex, Whisperer, Surfer, and the Psychologist!
  5. All new voiceovers - Since I rewrote the script and added characters, I recorded all new voiceovers with improved sound equipment and additional actors.
  6. Performance enhancements - I made a number of performance optimizations and improvements and, so far, all of my testers tell me that their framerates are consistently smooth throughout the mod!
  7. Custom music - My wife and I put together a simple background piece for the beginning.

Currently, I am almost finished with beta testing and I'm pleased to announce that we have found no show-stopping bugs at this point.

And now my plea for help!

I need help from someone who has experience customizing the Crysis menus. This should be a fairly simple task as I only want to accomplish the following:

  1. To insert my logo.
  2. To use the same standard Crysis menu with my logo for the Crysis Wars version of my mod. (Currently the player launches the mod then has to choose the correct map from a list)
  3. Compile the DLL files necessary.

I promise that your name will appear in the credits of the mod. I will claim no work that is not my own. Please send me a message on modDB if you can help! I would like to release this mod ASAP but I want it to look as professional and work as well as it possibly can! If I don't have any responses soon then I will release the mod "as is" for both versions of Crysis. Once I have a response, I will be able to accurately determine a release date.

As always, enjoy a new pic!

Good news! Masterside has agreed to compile my menus for me! He is known for his excellent horror Crysis Wars mod "Dead Corridor" so I have no doubt he will nail this!! I will keep everyone posted as to when this will be complete.
