I hope everybody reading is well.

Hard as it is to believe, The Apocalypse was released nine months ago. The reception was very positive, and I’m very glad so many of you enjoyed the experience. To those who played, to those who left feedback, and to those who recorded playthroughs, thank you!

I’m happy to be able to announce that The Apocalypse is now available to Linux users. This also means that the mod is playable on Steam Deck!

To play on Linux, you will first need to download the base game:

You should copy theapocalypseofeden to the appropriate sourcemods location, which for me is ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/sourcemods

Next, add the following shared libraries to your theapocalypseofeden/bin directory so that they sit alongside their DLL equivalents:

Moddb.com

Please note: you will need to use the ‘upcoming’ beta option for Source SDK 2013 Base Single Player in order to play on Linux – you can configure this in the properties of Source SDK 2013 Base Single Player.

Finally, we’ve long had a gameplay trailer for The Apocalypse, but I’ve now put together a simple story teaser, to better advertise the mod’s setting, atmosphere and story:
