We are planning to introduce Purchasable Buildings and Defenses into Tiberium Crystal War at some point.
I was thinking of the following stuff to make it happen:

1- Its always available when a map has a construction yard or construction crane
2- Its only available on special designed maps for it
3- It is only available when a special game mode is enabled on the server (ie: split it from regular completely)
4- Only defenses can be purchased on a normal server and optionally be disabled
5- Only allow purchases on static locations predefined so that you cannot place buildings inside other buildings and stuff

For example: Let's for sake of argument say that a Power Plant costs $10.000 to construct.
Basically what i intend to do is (after Mauler makes the PT"s for it) place a Purchase
Terminal with a Power Plant icon on it inside the Construction Yard interior somewhere.
Players would walk up to this PT and press E to add $1000 of their credits into the Power
Plant purchase fund. When the fund hits $10.000 the Power Plant will be restored back
to life powering the base and defenses. This will also reduce the build time for units
again. How do you guys feel about such an option? And how would you like to see it
implemented if at all?

I remember developing Coop maps for A Path Beyond (another game based on Renegade)
where you could buy buildings and defenses and people loved it and it worked great.

In Tiberium Crystal War we can take it a level further as we can now really activate
certain purchase options on the fly or disable them. So if you purchased your War
Factory the purchase terminal icons for the vehicles will light up and a sound will play
'New Construction Options' -> Luv it :)

So what do you peeps think about this? Remember that we will PROBABLY make it a
seperate GAME MODE itself and not mix it into a normal gameplay server. It will also
appear in Coop maps as mission objectives for example.
