Wolfenstein 3D is fun. If you haven't wasted countless hours playing it, do so now, then return to this page.
As I was saying, it's fun, but haven't you ever wanted a few spare weapon sets? Maybe some cool new modes? MORE EXPLOSIONS?!? I know I have.
So rather than create a full blown game out of Wolfenstein 3D, I'm giving you something to play the original maps with. Or somebody else's maps. Or maybe even some maps you've whipped up in your spare time.
There's not much I'm going to give away except that it's going to be out by Christmas, which would be a really good day to play it on (hint hint hint). For the full story behind the mod, check the link. While you're reading that, be sure you're listening to Chris Chokan's song2.mid, because that's what pretty much everything to this mod (graphics, code, the text you're reading, the page you should read) was made to.
Maybe I should have edited this a long time ago to indicate that an update in the near future is in the works. Of course, if you couldn't tell from the start of new screenshots, then I really don't know how you'd be able to tell.

How's a new screenshot for proof?
And I've got a nifty new weaponset to finish off the weaponsets with. I had the first three in mind, but then I forgot to make a fourth new one. This one will open up tons of possibilities and will hopefully waste many otherwise productive hours. The sad thing is that in a way it already exists in a program somewhere out there...
And now there's an approximate release date. It'll be done in chunks of productivity, so if you suddenly see the percentage move up then that's what happened.
Dugtrio17, I've run across a scenario where using the explosion weapon pack wouldn't work. Hopefully I can explain it with words.
If guards are trapped behind barrels, for example, and the only space for the player to move from one end of the room to the other is one width wide and zig zagged, then none of the exploding weapons work against the guards. Only the player gets blown up. It would be nice to have a key a player can choose such as R for rifle to kill those guards. Have a time limit or limited ammo supply perhaps.
I ran across this scenario with one of the levels in the super level pack. I believe I saved the saved game. LOL

Explosion! Explosion! Explosion! I've managed to tear myself from the missiles for a bit and play with the throwable mines. I didn't realize the dastardly effect they have on guards. Previously I just laid them down because it didn't occur to me to THROW them at the guards. Whoo hoo!!!!!

One screenshot per new weaponset, and I'm gonna make 'em as vague as possible. And once the new weaponsets are added, it's no more screenshots until release.

I can only hope that means people are enjoying it. By the way, since you're here, I thought I'd mention that I'm going into hibernation again the week before and the week of spring break, which for me is some time in mid-April. The focus this time will be modes, with a few surprises and complex weaponsets thrown in. Stay tuned.
