In the wake of despair left by Stronghold 3, I have decided that it is time for a few good SH2 mods, since this is an area which is sorely lacking. Imperium Condita is a roman modification of Stronghold 2. This mod will include: Better textures and graphics Historical military units New historical music Historical factions Changed game mechanics (i.e. Honor becomes Glory) Different voice acting (eventually) A new campaign New maps And much more on the way. I understand that SH2 is an older game, but it is still loved by many, and it has great bones for modders. This is an experiment to see whether the gaming community is interested in SH2 mods anymore. Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Somehow but not exactly. you basically play a "World" of mixtures from all these factions with units like legionnaires(Rome), gladiators(..), cataphracts(Parthia), hoplites(greece), slingers(some but not all factions literally all-around), germanic berserkers(..), phalanx(macedon), and so on..

Here's the basic premise for factions. These factions are chosen and aligned by their matching color in the game. So Rome is red, Gaul is green, Macedon is purple, etc. The 2 gladiators, Iberians, and the Greek Cities are not actual characters in the campaign, so they will mostly be for Kingmaker mode. All factions will have the look and feel of their historical counterparts through custom missions. So for example, if you are playing a mission against the Britons, you are going to see wood buildings, and Celtic swordsmen. If you play a mission against Parthia, everything will look eastern, and you'll be fighting Horse Archers and Eastern Infantry. Kingmaker is where things get sloppy, since I can't control what units they use in that. But hey. The world's not perfect. I've had some requests to play as other factions besides Rome. So even though your color is red, I'm going to make missions for other cultures. Where buildings and troop types are limited to that faction. Considering the way SH2 is set up, this is the best I can do to add some variety.

Aw, I really hope you can make it so in Kingmaker you can choose your faction.

All I play in this game is kingmaker. :(

Good opportunity to expand your horizons. lol

But there will be much more than kingmaker. There will be a new campaign, new war missions, freebuilds, and you are still in control for kingmaker. If you want an eastern city/army, you can make that happen. Same with any other culture. Its just the AI that are uncontrollable in what they build.

Can you make missions that are skirmish-like missions?

Like missions that are kingmaker but instead you can choose different factions.

For example, in king maker you can't choose your faction.

If you make a mission for the faction rome,
And another mission for the faction macedon, then people can just choose one of those missions instead of playing kingmaker. The missions could be a replacement to kingmaker/skirmish :P

I already mentioned this in my first comment. Warcustoms for specific factions (other than rome) are being planned out. But these take a lot of time to make and script. So there won't be many of them. That is for the players to create, and add to.
