Hey there . I LOVE YOUR MOD !!!
Sadly it's not compatible with gz4.10 which prevents me from playing it and enjoying to the full extent .
Is there any chance you can write a patch or fix for that ?

I would love to make a video on my channel !

Is GZDoom required or can I just use this with the Veteran Edition?

1. I'm tired of Graf breaking everything with each update, not to mention they run progressively worse.
2. Google it or buy it.

How/when did it happen? Are you using GZD 3.6.0?

Can confirm, this happens regardless of GZDoom version.
I was initially using 4.2.1 x64 but now using 3.8.2 Legacy 32bit and they both had that error, although 4.2.1 CtD instead of quitting to the console.

See that "3.6.0" in the description?

Same guest that responded to the handgun error here.
I may have found a gamebreaking issue. When doing "The Bishop" mission, the armoury door and the door that requires the bridge to raise to access both are locked stating "You don't have the key"
Encountered the same issue during the castle storming mission where you find the Programmer. A lot of big doors were locked with the exact same message.

Thank you very much for making this mod, it's really great.
Though I have a few questions:
First - how is one supposed to get the new weapons? Renegade ar, hunting rifle, etc.
I've played through the entire game and I haven't found them. Though I was playing the 1.666 version of it back then.
Second - I saw an option to install a flashlight and a supressor for the pistol, yet buying them does nothing?
I also saw the option for scope for the crossbow and second barrel for the grenade launcher, both change nothing too.
I am using gzdoom version 3.6.0 like a good boy, so I don't know what's wrong with it.

1. Merchant NPC sells them, one's at the shooting range (Map03), the other one is next to the stairs at the castle base (Map 10).
2. First click buys the attachment, then it's a click to install/uninstall (so you don't have to buy it again). I guess the menu should be clearer about that.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know he sold more stuff, I thought it was only ammo.
Also a little bug involving an upgraded flamethrower.
Basic flamethrower reloads normally, but when upgraded it will take away all spare fuel, even if all that was needed to refuel it was 2 units or so.

And switching ammo type with hunting rifle freezes the game.

I can confirm that in v2.0 of Strife Overhaul switching ammo type for the hunting rifle freezes the game.

Also, you can reload the AK-like assault rifle ad infinitum, even with its clip full, while that doesn't happen for the other weapons.

Additionally, you can't slide {Run + Kick} in this version anymore (while you can in v1.9; I checked).

Everything above can be reproduced on GZDoom v3.6.0 in every version (32/64 bit, "Modern"/"Vintage", so in three different versions in total; I downloaded each from this post on ZDoom forum: Forum.zdoom.org) for Windows.

Also, while I dig the Health/Armor/Stamina bars, it would be nice to have numeric values to go together with them (it's a partly RPG, after all).

Even in the face of those minor bugs, the general concept of the overhaul is still awesome. It's even better than the (in)famous Brutal Doom, and now is my favorite mod for Doom Engine.

To add to that, the pistol still shoots out casings coming from the center, instead of from the right of the screen.
I wanna say it's the same for the assault gun, shotgun, revolver and the renegade, but I'm not sure about those.
And yes, I agree, this is a great mod, even though it's buggy at times.

Forgot to mention it, I've changed slide to Run+Crouch. Other than that all of the reported bugs will be addressed.

One more thing:
If you accidentally miss-click in the skill menu, a skill point will be wasted and "ACS: I don't know what QuestItemThatDoesNotExist is." message will pop up in the console.
And the caravan shotgun's behavior is really glitchy.
First it doesn't let the player change ammo type, it just deselects instead.
If selecting standard buckshot ammo, the weapon gets removed from inventory.
And I also somehow made it stuck, where pressing fire would reload the gun and that would never stop. (Wasn't able to replicate this one though.)

Funny how many things can break without a single error but, simply using a function, which has been there for years, completely floods the console log.
Thank you for the report, I'll add it to the to-do list.

I have a some critics, The first two are with Irale. First I do not care for the head shot of him as it doesn't fit with the rest of them. Second Option 5 in his has dialogue no visual feedback. Third the game seems to crash when you select the ammo that is already loaded into the weapon. Finally the weapon sprites could use a bit of polish. Other than that it's a pretty interesting mod. (I also like the little touch done with the Hunting Rifles partial reload animation) Keep Up The Good Work!

> Second Option 5 in his has dialogue no visual feedback
Probably a Gzdoom's thing, I don't think there's a way for me to break that.
> Third the game seems to crash when you select the ammo that is already loaded into the
Yes, this bug has been reported.

>sup, ColonelDawid's second account here

Getting all the greentext formalities away, there are three issues that slightly annoy me altogether: the HUD, the mod's menu, and the biggest thing that buggered me since i played Metro 2033 when it was free on Steam - the sound design.

First of all, if you can turn off the aesthetic overlay, why you can't turn off the rest so you could have fun with the alternative HUD GZDoom provides? (implying the adrenaline will be not much useful; otoh it kinda is worth for a couple of perks)
Second: you can turn on the menu and click on the Inventory/Crafting/Skills section [except Skills], and still be able to turn the same menu on once more which makes somehow more chaos in managing it.
And finally the sounds. There's not too much diversity in them for firing/reloads/pickups - is it to save the space for future updates as well, or lack of proper sound banks or skills?

"but Dee did you like the mod"
I was even positively surprised by the revolver's reloading animations, lol.

Alright, let's see.
> why you can't turn off the rest so you could have fun...
Not possible, inventory system relies on it (GZD's inventory bar is deprecated).
> you can turn on the menu and click on the Inventory/Crafting/Skills section ...
Yeah, the menu doesn't account for all the crazy button mashing some people do. (some of those bugs I was never able to reproduce)
All I can say about it is that I'm trying to make it more reliable with every patch.
> sounds
There's always a room to improve I guess.
