Hello, supporters of StormCraft Armies project! In today's update we are going to showcase you the Tier 1 units of Hellscream Vanguard subfaction of the Warsong Clan faction.
Warsong Grunt
The first unit availbale for the training in the Barracks is the Warsong Grunt - a backbone of any orcish clan.
At the moment this unit has 3 model variations to offer the visual diversity for Warsong Clan. Every time a unit is created a random variation model is assigned to it.
This is the first variation.
The second variation:
And finally, the third variation:
Warsong Windcaller
The second unit available for this particular subfaction of Warsong Clan is the "Windcaller". A support spellcasting unit which can use the shamanistic powers of the winds to empower and heal their allies.
Warsong Marauder
Last, but not least: all of the Warsong Clan subfactions will have access to their cavalry unit at tier 1. The Marauder.
That's it for this week's update! Hope you enjoy the new custom assets for the Warsong Clan faction!

What's the difference between the marauder and raider?
Warsong Clan (Hellscream Vanguard subfaction in particular) doesn't have Tier 2 cavalry units like Raiders. Instead they have Marauders (tier 1 cavalry units which are faster and weaker than Raiders). And Wolfriders (tier 3 elite cavalry units with strong attack).
No Kodos?
This subfaction is set on a Warcraft 2 -prior to Warcraft 3 era timeline and hence, no Kodos for them. Hellscream Vanguard will have many other interesting instruments of war at Tiers 2 and 3 to compensate.
Those grunts look way too heavily armoured compared with the usual Warcraft RTS previous versions.
If you look closely, you will notice that they still have the same number of armour pieces as Warcraft 3 grunts did, with the exception of 1 small extra plate piece of knee - protector. Their chest and pants are still bare and their main source of defense is still the lone shoulderguard and their weapon to parry and deflect incoming attacks.
They look like they are in full platemail though. Thr design is great though, specially the one with the greataxe. Perhaps you could have a variant per subfaction, making people able to distinguish the subfaction of the Warsong player by looking at the grunts.
That's the plan, actually ;) The three Grunt model variations shown in this article are the models for a single Subfaction. The models and skins for the second subfaction which is in the works now will have very distinctive apperances, to say the least.
