Stargate: War Begins is a full conversion for the awesome tactical fleet simulator Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. We intend to recreate the feeling of the hit Sci-fi Tv shows Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. Our goals are to implement all of the ships seen in the series, and the original Stargate movie, and to release a full single player campaign, with configurable ships, and all the oppurtunities Nexus can provide.

Personally I think the thing is hideous. That is the fault of whoever designed it though, your modelling is stunning.

Exactly. Oh my god (I haven't chosen any religions, so I guess I believe the Ancients...)! It looks amazing!

that's actually a funny concept... in Stargate most Alien races actually posed as gods but, did they have a religion? (I'm leaving the Goa'uld out of this, those probably worshiped themselvels...)
The Ancient, the Asgard... it's not something really covered in the series

Impressively accurate. Even more than usual. =)
It's a shame that these SGU's final episodes were SO terribly disappointing.

I wonder how exactly this ship will be deployed- so far all fighters are launched from within a carrier ship's bay, but the shuttle is docked at destiny's surface.

we're working on that... but I doubt we'll be able to mimic it's behaviour on the show, but we'll cross that bridge when Destiny's model is ready.

So, will this act as a fighter in gameplay? Or will it be more of a bomber-type?

We don't know yet. Fighter, probably.

From the little I watched of the show before it was canceled, it seemed to do a bit of both. It also seemed to pack a decent punch to it.

yeah, we're still going through our options.
One alternative would be to have it as a fully fleged ship, once you "launch" it, it'll appear as any other ship, not a fighter. But this is all in the drawing room, for so to speack. We don't really know if we can pull it off, though.

can the fighters launched from a ship be incredibly strong? cause the shuttle in SGU had shields and everything so itd take alot more then a few shots to it.

Well, I wouldn't mind having the SGU shuttle stick with a hangar-deployed version if the engine only allows that. It would be far better for you to devote your efforts towards creating a fan campaign that would complete the story of this unfairly cancelled show. Giving the Shuttles more punch and resilience than your average fighter would be well worth it, though, since they are irreplaceable.

I couldn't agree more.
It would be great to complete the ancient fleet along with the two still and long awaited unfinished ships, the aurora and the ori cruiser.

yeah... we won't try anything until both the shuttle and Destiny are fully done, and even then it'll carry some poor priority.
