Each universe needs heroes...
This mod will make StarCraft a roleplay-game.
This means that you will no longer command whole troops, you will only play one character. You can buy things and utilities you need during the game, and you will get help and support from other persons and creatures in the game.
StarCraft Heroes will be made of three thrilling campaigns, each presenting new, unknown heroes. Because this mod will be based up on StarCraft Gold and is in a way the sequel to it, the changes you might already know from that mod will be in here again. Also, the story will be just very, very slightly connected to the original StarCraft or Brood War. Blizzard will soon continue their story, so this is something different.
In 'Heroes', you can play for example as a Marine, and later in the game, you will also get the chance to play a Ghost or a Templar. Buying upgraded weapons and armor will be very important, so you will have to look out for weapon shops in every mission.
Now, let this mod surprise you... you will never feel it by reading - feel it by playing.

I want to ask, can I modify this? My cousin gave me a brilliant idea and I would like permission to incorporate this mod into it.
The idea is to take this and add regular StarCraft multiplayer to it. You would have 1 player on each team play RTS mode and provide the Hero players with materials and support while they try to destroy the other RTS player and heroes.
I really want to pursue this idea and would kindly request that I use elements of this mod for it. I will link it all back to you if you allow me to use this!
this mod doesn't even work properly to begin with, so it's better to make a new mod yourself from scratch. why would you even want to ''use'' this mod anyway, it barely has any features to begin with, it's just very minimal modding overall

This mod seems very nice, like most of the mods you make for SC BW, now if only I could get it working...
I patched to 1.10, and I get problems like the other people here. Upgrades take very long and heroes cannot self heal. I tried reinstalling, then patching with the included 1.10 in the download. Then I tried patching to 1.16.1 and using the downgrader to bring me back to 1.10. I'm play the map (mod) with "Use map settings" and use the included .exe file. Any suggestions?
Yeah getting the same problem. Got 1.10 installed and I'm running the .exe for heroes but my guy doesn't heal, upgrades take forever, no LoS shared with my allies etc.
Pretty much makes this unplayable unless someone comes up with a fix for this?
Well it is quite a good idea, but the realisation is a bit worse...
1) Why the hell must I wait more than a minute for and upgrade?? It is quite irritating, could be just a couple of seconds. But WHY MUST I STAY NEAR THE SHOP?? Only this problem makes that mode practically unplayable. I have 3000 resources, but not 2 hours to spend it !!! (I can't even minimalize the game while upgrading, but that's not your fault)
2) Why don't allies share their vision? And why allied Medics don't heal me? What should Marine with 25 HP for the rest of the map do?? And what should his mentally ill companion Mr. Montag with 10 HP do (except kamikaze on Photon Canons)?
As you can see, I didn't even manage to pass first Terran mission, but I tried hard, really hard...

Note that I'm running BW 1.10 on Vista 64bit and campaign run with "Use map settings"
Ehm, usually updgrades do not even take any time. You click the button of the upgrade/item you want, and that's it. Additionally you should auto-heal. So I assume you either installed not correctly or the mod doesn't work for you for other reason. Remember the mod comes with an .exe, you need to run this one instead of original Starcraft.exe and then start the campaigns.
Thinking is one of my favourites, too.

Um I cant play this for some reason is there anything im supposed download before I play it? Every time I try to play the campaign it always shuts down the game.
BW Patch 1.10 is required. Lower or higher patches might cause crashes. The patch is within the package.
In case you might have problems downgrading your game, here's a helpful zipfile powered by Modmaster50 ;)
