Hello, today marks the first development update for Return of the Confederacy and the release of the final demo. The final demo offers a host of improvements designed to bring it to more of a playable state and one that is closer to how the first scenario will feel in the final release. Special thanks goes to my playtester for his insights to bring this whole project to where it has reached in it's current state.

FINAL DEMO CHANGES

non linear levels

  1. Added a few more mines to make them more of a threat to Monis'Vell.

  2. Monis'Vell's health was increased by 270 to 280. This was done to make the difficulty more fair for the player.

  3. Added flashing objects trigger for dialogue in cutscenes to help distinguish different speakers in each scene.

  4. Added an additional path to help break up the extremely linear design as suggested by my playtester. Also added an additional line of dialogue to accompany it.

  5. Some minor balance and dialogue fixes. I also Included a hint message in the loss menu to make it more clear to the player regarding what to do against strike mech squads.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

blaster battle 1

Around march 2023 I first started working on this campaign. The opening cutscene that I went with was originally going to just be a simple test scene but I liked it enough that I ended up wanting to tell a whole story, starting there. Since then it's been quite a journey. At times it's been rough, but I've made it too far to give up now. You see, my whole entire reason why I started this project was essentially as a tribute to best parts of the original Expanded Universe combined with a great gameplay experience that evokes the best elements of Galactic Battlegrounds. If I can manage to create a campaign that is at least enjoyed by one person, then my mission is accomplished. Right now, I'm just getting started. Until I finish it, any questions, criticisms or other comments here are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
