Heroes:

Master Kiasur Duris(Formerly on jedi council but defected when he disagreed with the jedis beleifs about kindness and mercy. He secretly spread his ideas about power which would later become the sith teachings throughout the orders younglings and padawans thus forming the Renagades)
Admiral Sythius Faurou(Once a force useing jedi but decided to join the republic navy after life became to difficult. He was seduced by Master Duris because of the small connection he still had to the force thus making him head of Duris's fleets)
Hujut Fuilopu(Also once a jedi apprenticed to Master Duris in fact he had helped spread Duris's ideas throughout the jedi. He would later become one of the first five sith lords.)
Mandalore(The leader of the Mandalorian tribes at the time. He once lived on Kuat as a child but left later on with a searing hatred for the jedi because of their bombardment of his village in an effort to eliminate an elite group of loyalist. He became leader of the clans at the tender age of 19)
Master Duytisa Lisu(Formerly a great jedi warrior who stood against the Renagades until Master Duris and Hujut lured her into a small house on Corellia which turned out to be her child hood home. To Lisu's horror her families dead bodies littered the floor and Duris used his power to make her watch her family be slain and the Bombing of Kuat as well as thousands of other scenarios that finally turned her)

The Jedi Order/Galactic Republic
Ground Units:

Republic cadet squad(Freshly drafted troopers 34 to a squad however if you use them make sure to have a few squads since by freshly drafted i mean they have minimal training and are fresh out of the acedemey with little or no experience)
Republic Trooper squad(Actual soldiers with more experience than cadets with 28 to a squad)
Republic Medic Team(3 highly trained Medics guarded by 1 captain and 5 troopers with the ability to call in a medical evac ship for seriously injured troops)
Republic Mortar squad(3 Troopers carrying mortars on their back and are accompanied by 5 troopers)
Jedi Strike Team(Two jedi a master and an apprentice meant for scouting but it will still take a bit to take them down)
Jedi Command Team(3 masters and 5 knights to command the front lines)
Jedi Attack Battalion(7 jedi masters, 12 jedi knights, and 20 jedi padawans. 3 of these can win the whole battle almost and i mean ALMOST everytime)
Space Units:

Aurek-7 Class Starfighter(squadrons of 15 starfighters resized so they are much smaller than the capital ships)
Daring Class Assualt Bomber(squadrons of 10 and instead of how bombers are normally useless in dogfights these can hold their own against fighters just as well as starfighters)
Defender Class Starfighter(Jedi Starfighter style of the time)
Foray Class Corvette(Can hold its own very well and is very large for a corvette class)
Praetorian Class Cruiser(Republic Cruiser as seen in star wars the old republic)
Hammerhead Class Battleship(Largest warship at the Republics dispoasal able to gun down a Mandalorian Cruiser easily or turn an enemy base to ashes)
Heroes:

Master Davurio Oisuru(Twilek Jedi council member in command of the Republics Mid Rim Forces. Formerly Oisuru and Duris were good friends but when Duris formed the Renagades Oisuru lost all respect,kindness,and pity for his fallen friend)
Master Tranx Vandar(Head of the Jedi Order and dear friend to Republic Sumpreme Chancellor Talior kiju. He was the first one to discover Duris's intentions and forced him to flee with his allies before he could gather anymore followers)
Master Exar Kun(Former Gaurdian of Peace, future Lord of Darkness. Exar Kun was once a kind,modest,and loyal member of the Jedi Council however he disapeared two years after Duris started his war. He would return years later with might of the new sith empire behind him)
Master Atris(Strong member of the Jedi council in charge of the Telos Academey. She had grown up in the temple with Duris and could not believe that he would turn from the order)
Master Zez-Ell Kai(Wise member of the Jedi council in charge of the refugee protection movement on Nar Shaddaa. He bravely defended the planet when the Renagades attacked)

Now here is a summary of Version 1: The Origins of the Sith
Once the galaxy was headed by the great Galactic Republic and everyone prospered under its rule. The Republics keepers of peace known as the Jedi had long prevented a war from outbreaking. At least until Master Kiasur Duris came along. Duris had always been too ambitious and unmerciful which caused him to doubt the Jedi teachings. He decided to start his own order to overthrow the Jedi and teach what he thought was the true nature of the force. So he gathered hundreds of followers finally allying with the Mandalorians and declaring a full scale war on the Republic. Duris laid the foundations for the future Sith Empire included convincing Jedi Master Exar Kun to seek out Duris's own academeys to stop his teachings. However Kun was seduced to the dark side and after Duris fell he would take his own new Sith Empire against the Republic. Duris created a 20 year war with high casualties on both sides including the entire northeastern hemisphere of the planet Fondor. In the end Duris became so bold as to take his armada of Mandalorian and Renagade ships to invade Coruscant. However Duris made his greatest mistake then by taking all his fleets allowing the Republics entire Coruscant Guard Fleet and Core Worlds Fleet to attack them in front while their Mid and Outer Rim fleets ambushed them from behind. Duris was killed when a jedi strike force boarded his vessel, killed his apprentice and seriously wounded him. They then set his ship to hyperspace into one of Coruscants many moons. The Mandalorians became scattered and Duris surviving forces fled to the unknown regions. The Republic would experience peace for a time, until Exar Kun came and then the Republic would burn.
