The sleek and deadly Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter
is utilized by the Naboo for scouting and
patrolling their system. It is manufactured by
Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps which
is responsible for manufacturing Naboo royal
starships. The N-1 features the best elements on
Naboo design and is aesthetically sound, adhering
to the Naboo's love for curves and
aerodynamic shapes. A chromium finish on the front
of the vehicle gleams in the sunlight during
parades and celebratory fly-bys. This chromium is
purely decorative and is only reserved for
starships serving the Naboo Royal House. The rest
of the N-1 is yellow in color.
The N-1's duties include reconnaissance
missions, escort duty and ceremonial functions. In
order to accompany the Queen's starship to
Coruscant or other distant planets, the N-1 was
fitted with a Nubian Monarch C-4 hyperdrive with a
range of 1,000 light years. The pilot is also
protected by advanced life support systems and
deflector shields. An astromech droid like an R2
unit helps the pilot with repairs and adjustments.
The N-1 starfighter also has an advance autopilot
computer that received navigational information
from hangar outlets or Naboo flight control. In a
crisis, the autopilot can bring the craft to the
site of an emergency or pilot the ship home
safely. The N-1's weapons are twin laser
cannons and a full complement of 10 proton
torpedoes. These are powerful enough to allow the
N-1 to engage even the Vulture droids of the Trade
Federation Droid Control Ship as was the case
during the Battle of Naboo.
