Star Trek Armada was my first PC game, 2001 long ago. When GoG offered Star Trek Armada and other old titles, I immediately bought them and was back in the game. Star Trek Armada simply has an unbeatable charm. So I thought I'd try to make this game, which hasn't aged well, pretty and the result was this little project: Star Trek Armada Remaster. What is new and will be new: - Backgrounds for the Skybox, sprites (stars, nebulae, weapons, etc.) - the ship textures got a comic look, because the models/textures are very old and rather bad - adapted single-player missions, - some changes to the weapons without impact on the balancing, - fixed the presentation of the bridges (Enterprise and Defiant) and upscaled all textures of the bridges - new planet textures, repair of texture tiling, - Widescreen support (Star Trek: Armada Patch 1.3 Project, Doca Cola)

So I had an idea and have already implemented it. I wrote a programme with which you can switch between Classic Mode and Remaster Mode. Furthermore, the programme includes the possibility to replace the Borg with the Dominion, which does not affect the single player, and to play new missions. In Classic Mode you can play with the original models and in Remaster Mode with new models. In both cases, the techtree named John's Special is replaced.

So I had an idea and have already implemented it.
I wrote a programm with which you can switch between Classic Mode and Remaster Mode.
Furthermore, the programme includes the possibility to replace the Borg with the Dominion, which does not affect the single player, and to play new missions.
In Classic Mode you can play with the original models and in Remaster Mode with new models.

In Classic mode there is no option to switch Borg with Dominion, but instead you can use the new techtree (previously John's Special) to build a shipyard from which you can build annexed ships. I have thought that the Romulans can then build Sona and Breen ships and the Klingons get the Dominion ships, while the Federation gets the large starbase as a build option and the Borg get nothing.In Remaster mode, Jonh's Special is swapped with Adavanced Techtree, in this techtree all factions have more build options available, i.e. more ships in the shipyards and more.
The other techtrees will remain as they are, the only new addition to them will be the Dominion addition.

The new models are almost ready, half of the Romulans and the Dominion and the Borg are still missing. Applies to models only, the rest is pretty much done.

I won't make it to 1 September, but I will make it to 16 September.
