It’s the distant future and mankind has expanded beyond its solar system. After spending several centuries traveling, expanding and populating, humans perfected the use of wormhole technology. But wormhole technology comes with a price: it consumes a natural resource found only in particular systems. Many more decades passed as humans built and placed the wormhole devices at strategic points in their little section of the galaxy, thus creating a network of “jump points.” During this time, Mankind had been aware of a war that spanned the galaxy, though known only by the effects their technology left behind. Through research and investigation, humans had learned that there was a massive war taking place between two powerful races: the benevolent Aeryopolis (silvery bird-like creatures that are described as looking like mercury), and the ruthless Kreen (bizarre looking creatures thought to have once had the ability to change their appearance at will. Hello all, I'd say it's high time we chime in for a v1.2 progress report, don't you?

First off, we have a few new team members here at Liquid Element. They are Eric Poggel, Shari Kim, and Simon Rolphus. Simon and Eric are new programmers, and will be working on new technology for v1.2. Shari is joining as a concept artist for our next project. You can welcome them all abourd via our community forums in case you are so inclined.

Now onto the juicy stuff. Spatial Fear v1.2 is coming along very well. In fact, the changelist and fixlist are already several pages long. I won't bore you with the whole thing, but insterad will say that we have redone all weapon and creature behavior, added two brand new levels, fully-functional vehicles, a new HUD, more and increasilngly intuitive puzzles, lenthened the size of many present levels, added completely interactive NPCs, added more involving scripted communications, reworked the game interface, and oh so much more.

Here is a pic of the brand new tank in the brand new military level, featuring new textures and a beta vehicle HUD.

But that isn't all. Stay tuned for more.
