This project is a gameplay refinement and extensive level pack for Sonic Generations to make it fit within the Sonic Adventure theme. There will eventually be 7 levels for modern sonic (Classic stages may come later). So far 4 stages are complete!
Two Emerald Coast concept designs, and a Pyramid Cave conceptual test. All of these were done by Steven Grayson.
The final version of this was cut down significantly, because the preceding half of the level was already getting a little long, and a 2d section needed to be added to balance the level being exceedingly 3d.
ok, but what's wrong with it being exceedingly 3D? If the 3D is well designed and handling is good it won't feel overused. On the other hand I'm finding the 2D platforming in certain parts of generations difficult due to the high speed of Sonic and not being able to see as far as in 3D so I can prepare for a jump. Generations had a really solid 3D style and if done right I can't see it getting boring or overused. If you have other issues with the 3D sections though I'd be interested in hearing them, if you don't mind taking some time to answer :)
