I know I only just posted a weekly news the other day but a new mod that I have just found on Skyrim Nexus has made it possible for me to add flyable vehicles!

I know I only just posted a weekly news the other day but a new mod that I have just found on Skyrim Nexus has made it possible for me to add flyable vehicles! This pretty much means that Death Gliders, Cargo Ships, Ori Fighters, Destiny Shuttle, Wraith Dart, Gate Glider, Puddle Jumpers and many other vehicles, both land and air, will be in the mod. I will be including a test flying vehicle in the Beta version to see how people like it, if all goes well then I will continue to add more, for now could you all please let me know what vehicle you would like to see first!

too large, the ones planned to fly are all the smaller ones, this process is essentially swapping the model of a duplicate horse so I am trying to keep the size as small as possible to avoid clipping with walls and things.

well, none of the things are a size of the horse lol (apart from star wars speeders), so clipping is inevitable, unless we can do new collision meshes so that ships will not go into the walls etc.

Collision mesh won't make too much difference in this case (and they already are re-done when I change the model), the star wars speeders won't need to fly as they only hover slightly above the ground anyway and teltak is twice the size if not more of any of the ships that will be flyable.

Well, yea, gliders and jumpers are the smallest ones i think, also ori fighter, but all other ships are quite big. The game was not designed that people can fly things around the map lol. Making the ships as flying enemies would be easier probably.

Actually tried that already and its more difficult haha, I will hopefully get both flying enemies and flying vehicles in but vehicles are more likely to work.

After testing the source code on an untextured death glider, it probably wont make it to beta for now, when moving between cells you drop like a stone to the ground, moving at faster speeds can be glitchy in combination with the last glitch and I am still trying to stop it from making horse sounds...

The mod the code comes from is only v0.1 so the code could improve but till then I will have to attempt the changes myself :S Either way because of the glitchyness this will be an optional add-on when it comes out so as not to ruin the main mod if anything goes wrong.

Oh and in addition to this I will be designing some land based vehicles, been re-watching Atlantis lately so I got the idea of some ancient style speeders after Shepard comments that they never have a means of land based transport.

Currently having problems with the CK until Bethesda pulls a finger out and fixes it (AGAIN!), crashes and general screwing up all round. I am making the best of this time converting more of the custom models and creating a few new inventory items which are mainly items which are enchanted and give you a bonus to health or decorative items which can be sold for to vendors. Also planning out a system where you help Jaffa defend against Unas by both killing Unas yourself and helping gather materials for building defensive structures, mainly to have a test for a planetary control system which will be of use in the Star Wars module and also a couple planets in the Stargate one. I will post a page in the wiki about it soon.
