Report RSS Race Overview: Anshari

An overview of one of the playable factions: The Anshari.

Posted by on

Overview:

The Anshari is a highly advanced theocratic society ruled by a Council of High Aeons from three Kiiths or Kins. Each Kin represents one of the three gods of their religion: The Holy Covenant of the Trinity. Throughout the Anshari's history they've gone through several golden ages separated by three time periods: The First Empire, Second Empire, and Third Empire. Currently the Anshari is entering their Forth Empire Age, and this may spell disaster for some people.

Gameplay:

Note: These remain to be concepts and may change upon final release
The Anshari believe less in military tacticians and strategy and more in sheer numbers and brute force. Many of their ships and technologies represent this. Unlike the other races the Anshari only process one utility cruiser: The Guardian (WIP), and the cruiser mainly functions as a support ship for friendly forces. The Anshari also rely heavily on their shields for defense.

Society

The Anshari are highly religious and very noble. They are mouthless humanoids that speak psionically with one another, very similar to Protoss from Starcraft but not quite. Their skin pigmentation is nearly non-existent and have adapted to surviving against skin based cancer by naturally creating "psionic barriers", a type of personal shielding created solely through psionic energy. As such their society adapted around their ability to be psionic and thus allowed them as a species to advance quickly, that and heavy influence from the Progenitors who saw them and the Prometheans as rightful heirs to their legacy. Three Kiiths rule over the Anshari Empire: The Warrior Kiith, Builder Kiith, and Preserver Kiith. An appointed Emperor keeps the balance between the three Kiiths and represents as the "leader of the Anshari people." He is refer to as the Emperor.

Religion
Anshari Religion revolves around three gods, the God of Destruction, God of Creation, and Goddess of Preservation. Each of their Kiiths represent each and every one of these gods. These three Gods have been identified simply as: Oya, bringer of Destruction and War, Arsha, master of creation, and Uru, preserver of life and knowledge. The three Gods make up the Holy Trinity.

Before the Trinity existed three tribes existed: Those who followed Oya, those who followed Arsha, and those who followed Uru. Eventually, the three came together and eventually lead to the founding of the Holy Covenant of the Trinity.

This looks fun, kinda reminds me of the Forerunners and the mantle. Though this could be their downfall just like it was for them.
