In a parallel dimension where not only apes evolved into a dominant and intelligent species, technology far surpasses our current level. There are four main dominating factions in the known universe.

Summary

The Planetary Defence Force (commonly PDF} is generally the side most players would feel 'at home' with, having more 'regular' weapons and technologies than the other sides. Based upon a species of Red Fox they are a less technological side, the PDF often uses technologically 'boosted' conventional weapons. The PDF is unique in that all vehicles have hover capability, increasing their speed tremendously. Their vehicles are the fastest in the game, but they can't run over infantry. Another weakness is that their vehicles suffer a substantial speed penalty when damaged, making hit-and-run attacks against heavily-defended targets harder to pull off.

Notes

Special technologies

  • Hover engines on all vehicles
  • Most buildings are armed with a cannon and can defend themselves
  • Infantry stealth when still

Strengths

  • Speed
  • Conventional all-round weaponry

Weaknesses

  • Weakish armour
  • Vehicles slow down massively when damaged
  • Vehicles can't run over infantry
  • Weapon ranges are relatively short

Construction Details

PDF buildings are preconstructed into several parts. When built, the parts are loaded up into drop pods and delivered from the air. The building is then assembled on the field from the parts.

Ground Control Centre

What builds
Ground Control Centre

Build queue
Standard build times. Larger buildings have more parts and therefore take longer to load up. Drop pods are launched when the building is placed. Once placed, the building will self-assemble on its own, and another building can be loaded up in the meantime while the first completes building.

On the field
Every building takes roughly the same time to be assembled as it is delivered. Some small variation may exist depending on how complex the building is, but in any case it's pre-constructed so it wouldn't take more than about 10 seconds for the most complicated building.

Build space
The area where buildings can be called in is controlled through buildings called Control Relay Nodes. Each Control Relay Node grants an area where new buildings can be called in. Control Relay Nodes can only be called in within the area of another Control Relay Node, which limits placement only to the home base initially. The Ground Control Centre also acts as an Control Relay Node, with a slightly larger build radius.

Expansion
The PDF is not especially expansionist, and rely on their Control Relay Nodes to be able to build anywhere else. Their only way of expansion is by ordering a specialised unit (Tech Marine) to place a Ground Control Beacon somewhere on the map. This beacon will then result in a CC being dropped in as normal. This is also the only way to build more Command Centers.

Vehicle Repair

Vehicles are repaired at the Vehicle Reconstruction Centre, which is avalable after the Hover Vehicle Centre has be constructed. This structure allows units to drive onto it, where it is repaired and then sent back onto the battlefield.
