House Umber added to Seven Kingdoms: Total War and new plans for Essos

Umber Small 01

After the recent addition of several new Houses, here's a quick update on current progress of Seven Kingdoms: Total War and plans for the future of the mod.

NEW CONTENT

The latest Northern army in Seven Kingdoms, House Umber (see teaser screenshot above) is a noble house from the Last Hearth in the North. They are sworn to Winterfell and House Stark, to whom they are fiercely loyal. The head of the house is Lord Jon Umber, called "the Greatjon", and their large infantry force carries shields emblazoned with broken silver chains into battle.

The Umbers are hardy people, tempered by the rough northern climate. They control the harsh land along the Bay of Seals, south of the New Gift and extending west to the Kingsroad - a place of wild hills and ancient forests of oak and pine. Their lands include the northern Last River and the Lonely Hills. Most of their land is east of the Kingsroad, but the Umbers graze their sheep in the high meadows of the northern mountains in summer.

House Umber infantry are protected by red, studded leather tunics with large hide shoulder pads and dark cloaks for additional protection. Unlike many Kingdoms of southern Westeros, Umber soldiers wear no helmets for head protection.

PLANS AND DEVELOPMENT

Thanks to the hard work, testing, and feedback of early access contributors (still available, see below) as well as reaching the second donation goal set on Patreon, I have decided to add several key armies and regions of Essos to Seven Kingdoms: Total War. While development plans are still being researched and finalized, players can expect to see armies of the Free Cities and Slaver's Bay in addition to Dothraki cavalry forces over the coming months.
