Standalone release of Roar of Conquest 1.1, more user-friendly OUTDATED.
Greetings! The point of this update was not to bring any new changes to the campaign or units, (after all, I just released the mod a few days ago), but to make the download process much easier. Now, instead of having to download and install Stainless Steel 6.4 and the bugfix before installing my mod, this download has it all in one easy package! To give credit where it is due, my mod incorporates the following mods in this download:
The upside to this mod is that if you follow my installation instructions, (which I will provide below), you will be able to have both Roar of Conquest and Stainless Steel 6.4 as separate mods in the game, if you so wish! Now, you can switch between my submod and the original at will! Hopefully this will help compensate the fact that I have removed the launcher menu in Roar of Conquest that Stainless Steel 6.4 had. However, this separation and the removal of the launcher menu means you will no longer have to worry about picking the right settings in the launcher to make my mod work. It will also make it much easier for me to make changes and continue modding Roar of Conquest, so there are some positives.
The one thing you will notice after downloading and launching Roar of Conquest 1.1 is that the opening poster and menu picture are no longer that of Stainless Steel; they now are different pictures and bear the logo of Roar of Conquest! Now, it will actually look like you are playing something different from Stainless Steel, which I felt was appropriate.
If you have read this far, I'm sure you are bored silly by now; so enough tongue-wagging, onto the instructions!
1) After downloading Roar of Conquest, unzip the folder.
2) When you have unzipped the folder, find the location of your mod folder in Medieval II Total War on your computer. It should look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods
3) Drag the Roar of Conquest folder into the mod location in Medieval II. Once you're done, the file location should look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Roar of Conquest 1.1
4) When you open Roar of Conquest 1.1 in it's location, you will find a shortcut already up and ready to use! just drag it out onto your desktop and it will launch the game, provided you have done the following:
And now you are done! I hope you enjoy the game and that this download will help make the lives of you, the audience, much easier than the previous installation.
