Hello, gentlemen.
Time has come for a new update! I present you the loyalist troops fighting for the King!
Note: My work is inspired by paintings of Don Troiani, which you can see to the left.
First up, the infantry of British Legion. These men were a unit under the command of Banastre Tarleton. In fact, the British legion was approximately 50% infantry. These loyalist soldiers mostly fought as light infantry. At the battle of Cowpens they were formed into a line along with 7th Royal Fusiliers, and felt the cold steel of Continental bayonets.
My representation of the legion's hat doesn't have a badge "L" or "BL" because as research shows, it wasn't as common as previously thought ( you can see it on some images of British Legion re-enactors online). Even the painter himself has changed this painting afterwards :)
Next, the King's Royal Regiment of New York, AKA King's Royal Yorkers.
Yes, this is a re-worked version of the unit from DLC "Elite Units of America." I chose it over the American Prince of Wales Regiment presented on the image on the left for a couple of reasons. There is more information available from re-enactor groups and Prince of Wales regiment became a part of British Legion late in the war. Both had nearly identical uniform, though, so changing will not be an issue.
Finally, the proud Irish: 2nd American Regiment AKA Volunteers of Ireland.
This unit participated in the battle of Camden where the Continental Army under general Gates has been defeated. It was positioned at the left wing and fought against the regulars of 2nd Maryland regiment. Despite their loyalist status, they were trained as line infantry in the British fashion and were a force to recon with.
