You are not correct.Russia was the Soviet Union.How do you did it:2 different countres:Russia and Soviet Union??????????????????
Republic of Russia (Coloquially "Russia"), known as White Russia by the Soviet forces, is a new government established after the defeat of USSR at the hands of the Allied Forces.
While White Russians managed to gain foothold in the European part of Russia (Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, even as far as Yekaterinburg.) the USSR set up shop in the Asian part of the former Soviet Union and had the city of Novosibirsk become the de facto capital.
