The Community Mod Project (CMP) aims to create one of the craziest mods for RA3 by taking the ideas of the community and implementing them into the game. Of course, we need a system that narrows the number of designs we accept. So, every few weeks, ferriswheel42 will host a game on a Red Alert server and the winner will be allowed to send in a concept that fits the theme below. The timer on the official website counts down the time until the next game, so until then, best of luck comrade!

FAQ:
What is the Community Mod Project?
The Community Mod Project (CMP) aims to create one of the craziest mods for RA3 by taking the ideas of the community and implementing them into the game. Of course, we need a system that narrows the number of designs we accept. So, every few weeks, the_ferriswheel_man will host a game on a Red Alert server and the winner will be allowed to send in a concept.

Aren't you guys also the ones who make RA3 Paradox?
Yep. In fact, some of the units in Paradox may make a cameo in the CMP. Because we're only going to be adding a single unit (though an awesome unit designed by a member of the community) every few weeks, it will allow us to have fun while completing work on Paradox.

How do I send in a concept?
First, win one of the games hosted by the_ferriswheel_man. Then, send and email to the address he gives you. The email should include a description of the unit and a concept of what you want it to look like.

How long will it take to make a unit?
After about a week or so, there will be a news spotlight regarding both the game and the victor, including a 3D model. Every 3 games, a new version of the mod will be released, including all the units that were added by past winners.

What guidelines do you have for unit submission?
Not infantry. Anything but infantry. Or anything that requires a great deal of animation.

Why should winning a game determine how the mod ends up? Isn't that unfair?
Another great idea that has been suggested is that the community pools together all the concepts that people suggest and then vote on which ones are carried through with. The problem is that there would be hundreds of designs that we would have to sift through in order to get a good 10 semi-finalists which the community would vote on, and that would lots of time and effort - and effort that is a lot less fun than playing RA3.

Again, isn't that unfair?
Yes, completely - it means that people who have really bad ideas actually have a chance of getting them implemented. If it ends up becoming really crappy after a while, then we'll switch to the democratic way of things and the community will vote. Until then, we're just going to have to duke it out Gladiator style.

That's all for now, folks!
