Take yourself back to before the Rings of Power, and the fall of Numenor, to the beginning, when evil's first seeds began to stir. In this modification for BFME2, your entire world will be taken back to the First Age of Arda, where the Dark Lord Morgoth waged a war on the other Valar of Middle-earth, and the whole land was shaken and torn asunder. Play as the evil fallen one's army's commander, or fight to defend your civilisation as Elves, Dwarves or Men, and end this war of wrath and destruction! Be sure to check our new website for in-depth news and updates!
The Dark Lord Morgoth will rise from the shadows, to conquer the world of Arda, but in the struggle against him all of Ea will be shaken, the very foundations of the earth cracking and sinking as if reeling away in fear from the monstrosities that burn and pillage the free peoples of Arda.
I see you're taking a new approach towards how the Dark Lord looks.
it´s really nice, although a bit too much beasty IMO... are you going to make a more human version clad in armour?
Was Morgoth an elf until he turned evil?
He is a valar spirit (angel) , he used to look good once but when he turned evil (representing satan's fall from grace) he started to turn ugly and his rather embarrassing fight with fingolfin didn't help either.

I'm going to thin out the neck, chest and limbs to give him a more intelligent and agile look; IMO Morgoth wasn't such a fat git running across the Helcaraxe!
I must admit its a a tad-too Balrogee for my tastes. But whatever your happy with so am I :P
I like the beastly face, and the wing like things are a nice addition, so if you could use those and attach them to a body looking something like this: Lotr.wikia.com
he'd be perfect.
Armour will come soon, like your proposed image, but we'll be keeping the animalistic style, to differentiate him from the other Valar (given that the model here is his evil form).
At least straighten his back then, he looks to primal when bent over, not a great look for the most powerful valar...
WOW!Very nice work!
Just some suggestion:give him:~a hammer and a shield.
~an Iron crown(Because When he get the sillmarils, he put it them the crown)
That'll come with armour.
try not to make him so bent, IMO he'd be much straighter to fit with human armor. i'd also say remov the tail and the wings, so he could do with the black cape. 'part from that, looks epic.
OK. Straight back, then.
I may not be so competemt in these kind of things, but in my opinion all Tolkiens books show, that Melkor is the character that is the closest to the human nature, for of all the non twisted creatues of Tolkien´s world, Men were the most simmilar to Melkor in their ambition and faliture (Numenor, Isildur, Boromir etc.) I thus bellieve, that Morgoth (or however you spell it) Must, From the very phylosophical persceptive look of all the superhuman characters, most human, twisted and evil man, but man still. Althow the silmarilion only hints the apearance of Morgoth, the little elements suggested that he in fact was looking human, and my uneducated guess would be, that as he "spends" more and more of his power, he looses his godly (superhuman) essence and turns into humanlike. But you really should get rid of the tail... Can you imagine how would he sit on his throne with this?
Tolkien writes about the morgoth´s body parts as if they were human (eg: hand not paw etc.)
Thank you for your... long comment. In the case of this and so many others, you have disagreed with this design. I'm very glad you did! You've shown me Tolkien's Morgoth, which I was too blind to see, past PJ's movie series. I will remodel this now, to suit our goal. Again, thanks.
PJ was smart to cover Sauron in the armor so much that none of his body part was to be seen. This allowed for imagination, sometimes neither the film nor the game should be to explicit, Hidden Horror may be worse than that which is exposed.
Yeaahhh, that's not and shall never represent Morgoth... that's a Balrog or Valaraukar, which is a maiar spirit, a corrupted and evil form of the Ainur kin or servants of the Valar. Morgoth would more than likely resemble an old twisted sorcerer, much like Saruman, but bald and have pitch black eyes and veiled in a cloak of shadow, for he was the lord of evil and darkness.
You should experiment more... the custom characters for the wizards is by far the best route to creating a Melkor character or a modified barrow-wight.
Well, fellbeast 3 is changing morgoth up a bit (getting rid of the tail and wings) so y'all don't have to rustle your jimmies anymore.
I´d rather see that first, then I will decide whenever I like it or not, in my opinion just removing tail and wings would not do. This is silmarillion, not some f****** WoW!
I don't mean to be rude, but however fanatic you are, whether you like it or not is your opinion. Keep it. And if you hate it that much, make your own. We aren't making a Hollywood Silmarillion, where's the point? But where's the point in making everything as everybody else imagined it?
Tolkien drew it in words, and many artists drew it as what they thought it would look like. We are making it how we thought it would look like. Now, if you make one I'd be very happy to see it. But until then, keep inappropriate comments to yourself.
My aplologies if I made my critique sound rude, I was however stressing in each of my comments, that it is just my opinion. Reason for my rudeness was the love for the Tolkien´s silmarillion and the fear that the image of Morgoth will be to cheap, (which I bellieve it so far is). I don´t know anything about programming and thus I will never be able to produce anything near as good as would be what you produce, however I bellieve that what you has produced is insufficient to fully grasp the extend of the Morgoth´s character, I do not bellieve that it is due to your lack of ability, which I have never doubt, But rather because enormeous complexity of what you are trying to do. When Christopher Tolkien rejects to give rights for the silmarilion to even the most profesional big producers, it is obvious that he does that, because he does not trust in their ability to express Melkor. I hate this inhumane form of morgoth because I do not understand why should Melkor look this way, I would love to see some philosophical reasons for giving him this form, and unless I will have them, I, like many other people will concider this form very shallow and cheap representation of much more complex character.
... ok. Fair enough, then. I'll think about it.
agree with marcus but this model is great as far as i remember morgoth took many shapes how about a power to make him look like this or may this be the model of Gothmog (durin's bane) take a look to these pictures to see a great looking of morgoth Img-fan.theonering.net Media.indiedb.com Th03.deviantart.net Images3.wikia.nocookie.net
I like the idea of this mod. I suggest to keep this model for another character, like one of the Balrogs. And for Melkor/Morgoth, maybe you can find some inspiration in this:

I love that album!
nightfall of middle earth!! amazing album
Honestly, I think it would be better if Morgoth was kept like he was in the books. Like a man in Dark armour only you can't see his face and stuff.
The MOD is looking good though. A very big job well done to you guys.
Because I don't want to just be a critic and I would like to try to help you guys, here is a pic of Morgoth that I found that I think would be good to base Morgoth in the game off of. It also has Fingolfin in it too. I hope you guys like it!

...Would like to suggest that the armor - of most units - should not be plate armor, rather it would be mail armor, or chain armor, or lamellar armor as in the books it was described... Some units could have partial plate armor, or maybe one unit, as heroes of factions... Saying this because most the warfare technology that Tolkien imagined was similar with the early centuries of European middle-age and Anglo-Saxon armor...
...The exception, of course, they would have - following the description of the books - have helms, but this doesn't count as armor for the limbs and chest... Most men and elven armies would have tall helms, as the Saxons...
