Promod 3.0 is the first class-based mod for Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Its skill-point system allows you to customize your player character with either Gunnery and Equipment, Force Power skills, or any combination of the two! Go full-bore Gunner to gain access to the all-new dual thruster jetpack that allows you to fly to places previously unreachable in a manner similar to that of the Tribes 2 jetpack. Whether it's Gunner vs. Jedi, Gunner vs. Gunner, or Jedi vs. Jedi, you can expect a well-balanced, polished playing experience in either one-on-one or team-based combat. The rich new saber combat system ensures that all lightsaber duels are decided purely on the basis of player skill, with all randomly generated outcomes having been removed. The Force Powers have been adjusted so that Powers previously deemed too weak to be useful, such as Protection and Mind Trick are now comparable in strength to their more potent siblings. Promod 3.0 IS the evolution of Star Wars combat!

Well, 3.0 has been out for a little while now, and the overwhelming opinion of it is very positive! The number of Promod 3.0 server continues to grow, as does the number of players.

We had an exhibition event a couple of days ago on my official game server, where Lazarous, who is one of the best Promod saberists around, played as a full Jedi class against all Gunners that wanted a crack at him. The matches were fought 1v1, with the victory going to the first one to reach five kills. Lazarous handily beat every challenger save TK-Nutritious, who proved to be just as versatile with gunnery as Lazarous is with the saber.

The good news is that we've got multiple-perspective demos of the whole thing. TK-Nutritious is converting some of them to video files for distribution on the web. I just have to say that if you only watch one of them, watch the TK-Nutritious vs. Lazarous on CTF-Bespin. The end score was 5-4 in favor of TK-Nutritious, but both players were showing off some very tricky strategies and great reflexes.

On a side note, I've already started coding version 3.1, which will contain bug fixes for all of the issues that I've been made aware of so far. I'm hoping for a release sometime within a week.
