Promod 3.0 is the first class-based mod for Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Its skill-point system allows you to customize your player character with either Gunnery and Equipment, Force Power skills, or any combination of the two! Go full-bore Gunner to gain access to the all-new dual thruster jetpack that allows you to fly to places previously unreachable in a manner similar to that of the Tribes 2 jetpack. Whether it's Gunner vs. Jedi, Gunner vs. Gunner, or Jedi vs. Jedi, you can expect a well-balanced, polished playing experience in either one-on-one or team-based combat. The rich new saber combat system ensures that all lightsaber duels are decided purely on the basis of player skill, with all randomly generated outcomes having been removed. The Force Powers have been adjusted so that Powers previously deemed too weak to be useful, such as Protection and Mind Trick are now comparable in strength to their more potent siblings. Promod 3.0 IS the evolution of Star Wars combat!

I'm continuing to work with Beta 2, getting everything balanced and making sure all the features I think are necessary are in and working properly.

The latest addition is the relationship between Sniping, Force Sight, and Saber Defense. Now, you can dogde sniper fire with Force Sight, but whether or not you succeed is linked to the CSC. You'll have to face the sniper now to trigger a dodge. Level 1 sight will allow you about a 5-degree radius around your crosshair, Level 2 about 10-degrees, and Level 3 about 45-degrees. If you fail to dodge, but have level 3 saber defense, then you can still block the shot with your saber if the sniper is within a 45-degree arc from your crosshair.

How does this differ from 1.04? In 1.04, you could block or dodge any shot that was in a front-facing 180-degree arc as long as you had either level 3 sight or level 3 saber defense. That made sniper rifles very ineffective in team games, since someone almost always had one of these power levels.

My next task is the relationship between Mind Trick and Force Sight. I'll update here when I'm done.
