Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a modification for the retail Battlefield 2 multi-player PC game. Project Reality's aim is to create a more realistic combat environment than standard Battlefield 2, and place a greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. Most of the aspects of Battlefield 2 that have the capacity to be modified have been tweaked, or completely overhauled, to reflect their real life counterparts, for increased realism. Ballistics have for example also been audited to reflect those of real weapons, including characteristics such as damage, deviation and bullet drop depending on a weapon systems calibre. Since EA and DICE no longer support Battlefield 2 and is no longer being played online, the Project Reality team made PR:BF2 a standalone game. No longer is a installation of Battlefield 2 required and we have implemented our own online account system for online play.
Official Project Reality Mod v0.9 Trailer for the PRM v0.9 release. Project Reality (PR) is a modification for the multi-player online PC game, Battlefield 2 (BF2).

(buried)
The mother of all realism mods?
WTF?!
The first realism mod was WGL for Operation Flashpoint... the makers of ACE2, which is the most realistic mod to date.
C´mom, The GameSpy guys know what they are talking about. Just you don´t.
I think he thought they meant mother as in "the realism mod that sparked all other realism mods because it was the first" instead of "the best and biggest realism mod to date".
this is more....just play 0.9 and read the changelog that just recently came out...just....read it...its litrally a wall of text....
3 MORE DAYS!!!
YES CANADA!
When is it going to be released?
It says in the end of the video, FEB 5
More one release? Yeah!
As I can see, Canada will be released on 0.9
Oh hell yes...
OH YEAH 82ND AIRBORNE YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
lol same day when i go to tafe
Sweet! Good to see the Canadian Forces in this awesome mod. ;]
it looks good but not that realistic...
when im think of a realistic battlefield i allways think about...
civilians hiding or running around (maybe sometimes helping one side)
maybe sometimes you can see animals too (fleeing rats or something like that)...
Burning cars (and other stuff burning)
Jets who are flying some time over the battlefield (they fly high enough that they can interact in the battle)
and so on...
this game has maybe a realistic physic engine but not a realistic enviorment
but after all good work.
Civilians left the war zone long ago since they were warned and evacuated by local army because of war.
That's not neccasary u wouldnt notice them anyway or they would just bug you.
Burning cars in the places that battles happened, none of these maps look like there was soemthing happening earlier.
Maybe jets but on some maps only.
and not so on.
Anyways the mod is epic and I cant wait for the new release, the maps look amazing to :)
It's realistic for BF2, which is why it was called Project Reality in the first place. It's not meant to be the most realistic game/mod ever, the DEVs have higher priorities (tactical gameplay, teamwork incentives for example).
However to address your points:
- "civilians hiding or running around (maybe sometimes helping one side)"
There are actually civilian players who can help the Insurgents. They're just not shown in the trailer because the focus is on new content.
- "maybe sometimes you can see animals too (fleeing rats or something like that)..."
There are birds that scatter and fly away if you disturb them in forest areas, but apart from that animals aren't really possible on the engine.
- "Burning cars (and other stuff burning)"
There is plenty of that, just not seen in the trailer.
- "Jets who are flying some time over the battlefield (they fly high enough that they can interact in the battle)"
Also in PR, just not shown in the trailer.
- "this game has maybe a realistic physic engine but not a realistic enviorment"
It doesn't have either really, but that's because it's a Battlefield 2 mod not an independent game engine. Hence there are constraints on those aspects.
Basically you need to actually play the mod because you're making assumptions based only on the trailer which shows a very limited amount of the overall experience.
And try to know a bit more of the mod still post askenase, or the other will think that you don´t have a brain. But don´t worry, almost all the new members had these problems ;)
you're a dimwit.
can't wait, internet hasn't been workin for a couple of days, finally started downloading it!!! But I hope the estimated 20-30 inches of snow in the mid atlantic doesn't screw me over...
SWEEEET
awesome trailer, congratulations!
Guys, what about Nuke in your mod?
*Facepalm*
i half-expected to see something like modern warfare 2 at the end. However mw2 aint all that realistic, the music and cool scenes just reminded me of it
This mod looks awsome. I am downloading it right now. I wish I could drive on the road that well xD
