A Weyland-Yutani research colony ceased contact in a remote South East archipelago chain, known only as the "Echo Region". Deemed unexpendable, the Company has sent in an elite search & rescue team from the U.S.C.M. They are to find and recover any and all remaining files and research documents, as well as rescue any of the remaining personnel... Noted, classified experimentations may have escaped containment, and must be exterminated.

Alright, developing a mod is no easy task, but developing a mod that people would expect greatness from is something entirely different. Undertaking the task of creating a Predator mod, people already know what to expect, in terms of what the Predator is, what it's mannerisms are, how it hunts, etc. The point being, myself and the other developers have quite a few things in mind, but we want to hear from YOU. We ask that you post your comments, thoughts, and ideas in response to this telling us what you would like to see in the mod (For the Predator, and Humans), such as traps, perks, weapons, etc. It may not all make it in, but we'll be sure to try and implement as much as possible, as well as our current ideas, which are as follows:

-----

Overall perks:

Immersive realism with horror ambience. Suspense will be used to immerse players into the virtual-world to create the most expansive multi-player experience ever.

Real-time day-night cycle for maps.

Selectable skins for the Predator and Marines.

Four game-modes. (Details confidential)

Expansive Playable Levels. Entire islands can be used as one level for players to explore and play in.

NPCs to populate the island, each with their own respectable faction that may or may not be hostile to the Marines. All are hostile to the Predator, but are also killable, and able to be used as ambient horror "props" such as flayed/skinned enemies.

The Predator:

Cloaking and active camouflage - Drains no energy, but is de-activated when the player enters water.

Predator Mask - Allows for infra-red vision, and electro-vision. Thermal vision is self-explanitory, but electro-vision will illuminate electrical weaponry, components, and alien NPCs. The mask emits noise and visual effects when vision is changed while cloaked (Ex: The eye flash from the original Predator movie). The mask can be lost if the Predator is shot in the head, and serves as a one time shield from a one-hit kill to the head.

"Player Dragging" - Using the single-player "Grab" function, allowing a player Predator to kill an already alive player Marine or NPC with a pierce from the wristblades or spear, keeping them within their grasp to drag them away to the depths of the jungle to turn into trophies or flay and use as a "horror prop". This also can be done to a dead player or NPC, but animations with be replace by the Predator dragging them by a limb.

Natural Strength - Like the super strength from the nano-suit, the Predator will always have his/her "Super strength" activated, allowing them to jump higher, punch harder, and motion will be tweaked so the Predator has no super-speed, but does move slightly faster than player Marines.

Marines:

Teamwork: Marines will not work alone. It takes teamwork and communication, which is the biggest advantage player Marines have over the Predator. Backup.

Satellite Mapping - An overview of the entire island to view objectives and where friendlies are. This satellite map gives an accurate overview of your surrounding area.

Pulse Tracker - A substitute to the popular Alien franchise's "Motion Tracker", the Pulse Tracker will emit a beep which will gradually get louder and faster when a live creature moves closer. This also picks up other NPC's and player friendlies.

Nightvision - The predator's thermal vision changes from day to night, but picks up heat. It doesn't illuminate the darkness, nor does his electro-vision. The Marine's nightvision allows easier navigation at night than the Predator.

Claymores - Cover your flank! Claymores are great traps, but different ones will emit smoke, flares, or explode.

Laser Tracking - If you happen to hit a live creature, NPC, or the Predator with the tracker, you can view the Satellite map to see exactly where the target has went for an approximate ten minutes.

Vehicles - A great way to move fast, but maybe not move everyone. Get in a vehicle.

More is to come, and will be updated in the mod description, but as I said, reply, post, blog! Send us your feedback!
