Portal: Unity Reboot, remade for the Portal 2 game engine. The maps have been polished/remade/heightened to higher quality and mechanics have been shifted to the more stable Portal 2 equivalents.

This needs a lot of improvement...

- All of the dialog is gone. Persephone and HADES are just gone. Apparently because the voice lines didn't fit.

I don't see why you couldn't ask for help on recording new voice lines? even if you had to record all of them over again with new VAs that would have been so cool.

- Puzzles are also either missing some elements or changed entirely to fit portal 2 elements. Quite a few times to their detriment.

- softlock: sliding panel knocking me off course. Autosaved while in the goo but before death (noclip + godmode to fix)

- softlock: Went too far in a funnel and couldn't reach the platform to proceed (noclip to fix)

- softlock: Cube left the laser maze and landed out of reach (godmode to fix)

- Those laser mazes CHUG HARD because of how many models are in place there. It's very difficult to see over all of the particle effects and is more cramped than the original.

- Most of the puzzles remain unchanged aside from substituting portal 1 elements for portal 2 elements and shuffling things around here and there. Not much was added.

- The funnel is introduced way earlier than the original. not a bad thing but does kinda lessen the effect of the proper introduction chamber that the original had.

- with all of the changes and even some removal of elements. This mod is actually EASIER than the original.
That's not necessarily a bad thing but there's a weird imbalance in difficulty (imo)

- portal 1 fizzler models (please change to portal 2 ones! It would look better!)

- The original modified portal style isn't present here.

- The screen showing the blue portal gun being placed back on the pedestal never changes from black.

- The elevator is still using the portal 1 style (I'd love to see a proper portal 2 elevator style here!

- The entire escape sequence was replaced with a single depressingly easy unfinished styled chamber leading into the credits.

The section between the drop into goo persephone saves you from and the unfinished chamber look amazing and unfortunately it's very underutilized because of this.

I'm wondering why you didn't apply the amazing scenery present in that small section to the rest of the backstage areas? maybe lengthen the escape sequence by building more onto the original? add more of those unfinished puzzles throughout?
That would've been so cool! Instead we got one chamber.

This review may seem harsh but that's because Portal Unity was literally one of my favorite mods. I held extremely high expectations for this because of how much more the portal 2 engine can do.

I genuinely want to see this surpass the original. To be a proper reboot that is a massive improvement. It just needs more work.

for some reason I cant hear any voice lines, the mod is great, ngl, but theres no friendly girlish robot voice.
