A fanmade and unofficial dialogue pack for the Reboot. Existing dialogue has been edited to match the new chambers and testing elements, and all audio has been re-recorded from scratch for consistency.
Because Unity deserved it.
I started this solo project in 2021 and finished it in 2024 after a very long hiatus. Every voice line that still plays in-game has been edited where necessary and re-recorded for consistency. I've added a couple little things here and there, primarily from unused Unity voice lines, but also including a mostly-original last dialogue for Persephone that attempts to give some closure to the Reboot mod in its final-yet-unfinished form.
These install instructions assume you have already installed the mod.
Step 0: If you previously reinstalled the original dialogue by whatever method, you will need to remove it. I recommend doing this losslessly by making a new folder in sound/dialogue and putting the both, hades, and persephone folders into that new folder. However, if you are sure you will never want to use the original audio again, you can simply delete it, or wait and overwrite it in Step 1.
Step 1: Download this addon and extract it to your sourcemods/portalunityreboot/sound/dialogue folder. (should result in three folders named both, hades, and persephone, and a readme that repeats these instructions)
Step 2: Launch the mod. Open the developer console and enter "snd_rebuildaudiocache" without the quotes. (This command is important because it forces the game to calculate how to cache the new sound files.)
Step 3: Wait for the loading dots to all turn yellow, then close the game. You should now be good to play.
