A texture pack that reintroduces some of the Unity flavor to the Unity Reboot.
Because Unity deserved it. And because the Unity weighted cube has been my screensaver for...possibly over 8 years at this point, oh boy.
I made these texture edits out of fannish love for Unity in 2021, but I always wanted to release them at the same time as the dialogue, so they languished in limbo for a few years. It's not a massive pack, just enough to give a "Unity flavor" to the Reboot mod. The suit color, cubes, buttons, turret, platform edging, and portals have all been changed to resemble the way they looked in Unity. I also changed the test subject's hair and eyes to match something in the dialogue pack and make it clear that she is not Chell.
Here is a preview of everything that was changed. You can see a larger version here.
These install instructions assume you have already installed the mod.
Step 1: Download this addon and extract it to your sourcemods/portalunityreboot folder. This should result in a file called "pak_01 dir unity.vpk" and a readme that repeats these instructions. You will now have two pak files in the folder, one that is called pak_01 dir.vpk and one that is called pak_01 dir unity.vpk.
Step 2: Rename the pak_01 dir.vpk that was already in the folder to "pak_01 dir original.vpk" or something similar. If you are sure you will never want to uninstall the texture pack, you can delete this original file instead, but I recommend keeping it around just in case.
Step 3: Rename the Unity pak to simply "pak_01 dir.vpk". The game will now use the pak with the extra textures, and you should be good to launch and play.
(Turret particles are still red. Sorry. Despite many, many attempts, I could not determine how to change them.)
