It's actually kind of sad how as soon as people see people in futuristic armor, they call it Halo.

"Oh, look, this new game Left 4 Dead has zombies... What a stupid Resident Evil ripoff."

They're different games with similar themes.

Keep up with the media, Praz! :)

I really wouldn't dwell too much on the Halo comments. We've made many efforts to alter the game design to make it more unique (which it is - even more so in the near future) - but there will ALWAYS be someone that hates everything you do.

We'd rather focus our efforts and attention to people that not only appreciate our hard work (and hopefully our FREE mod), but has time to post more than two words and actually play the game and offer useful crits.

Ignore them. It's huamn stupidity.

People I know were excited as hell for District 9 untill they saw the mech sout. Then they though it was a transformers ripoff.

People are just ******* stupid.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this game =(. The first day I DLed it, I couldn't connect to any servers, had to delete client registry .blob or something like that, then, the servers had very few people with a good ping (from Canada)... So to be honest, I didn't experience the full potential of this mod =(... Anyone can tell me a brief explaination of what is the difference between this and Neotokyo for example? Thanks

It plays kinda like Crysis's multiplayer except without the armor modes and it doesn't suck.

I am very sorry to hear about the first impression you had.

Rest assured, we believe that Beta 1.2 can remedy this for you :)

We will have ten servers up provided by us, and more to come - as well as any that the fans throw up.. I already know a few who are going to.

I don't really think you can compare NeoTokyo and Orion - very different games. NeoTokyo is a slower paced game, with more restricted player movement. There is a good element of required team work to get things done, which also transfers over to Orion. However, Orion is a very fast paced game that enforces team work to complete the objective. It has weapon mechanics that were inspired by the original Counter-Strike (was a hardcore gamer wayy back in the day when it was still in betas), and some of the coolest maps.

You can read more about what to expect from Beta 1.2 from HalfLife2.net's hands-on preview that is going live tonight on their website!

If such a mod fail, a part from Moddb would die, absolutely awesome.
And for those who call it halo or something, Go F*** the Master Chief :o
