We are unveiling a brand new map that has not been seen before. It is the first community map that is being made official via the Beta 1.2 release. Created by Andrew "Surfur" Dixon, DORSA offers players a brand new vista and 3-tier gameplay!

We are back with another update. We are rapidly approaching our release day and are looking forward to playing with all of you guys!
We are here to present you a sneak peak at the mysterious 5th level that has only been recently announced and to be included in the Beta 1.2 release - CTF_DORSA.

This map offers plenty of variety. The bases are each 3 stories tall and have plenty of rooms, places for cover, and requires a plethora of teamwork not only to infiltrate the enemy base - but to get out of it as well. The map is set up like a huge arena / thunderdome in a volcanic setting. There are plenty of ways across the map, including using the hanging platform in the middle, jetpacking across, or taking the lower route near the lava and mining vehicles.

This is the first map in Orion that is being showcased using Color Correction. Andrew presented us with this map using Color Correction and impressed me so much with what he did with it that we are going to be going through EVERY Orion map before the Beta 1.2 release and add Color Correction for the users that choose to enable that option.

We are going to be showcasing updated gameplay footage in the next few days after we conduct a few more beta tests. You will be able to see Dorsa in motion!

Make sure to prepare for the release of Beta 1.2 which is coming out on MONDAY, JUNE 14TH, 2010.

We are currently searching for a few more partners that are able to host and distribute the Beta 1.2 client upon the release. If you are an individual or a gaming network and see this as a feasible option - please refer to the contact methods below.
We are also looking for people that are able to host additional Windows-based Game Servers for Orion Beta 1.2. We have 10-20 that we are going to provide - but the more the merrier! If you believe you can help with this, please contact me:

:o
this looks amazing!
I agree, though the background haze could use a little tweaking, but not much at all. You can really see how color correction helps visuals in this map.
Yeah! Stunning work!
The armor looks a bit too sterile, like its just colored and have no textures. Maybe a bit more complicated texture with normal map would fit better. But its still amazing! :)
Such a fun map to play on when both teams are equally skilled.
lol, i made my self a reminder for the beta. cant wait!
i remember how the mod wasnt that popular and i said it will become popular, and look now - it is! xD
(i think )
Will there also be EU Servers?
We will have 1 or 2 London ones I believe.
We are looking for additional people to host servers - so if you know anyone, tell them!
Halflife2.filefront.com is a good file hosting service
there is no servers :(
Beta 1.2 is not out yet. Comes out Monday, June 14th, 2010.
All Beta 1.0 / 1.1 servers were shut down due to a server crash bug (that has been fixed) as well as to update them all to Beta 1.2 status.
from the first screen or two, I would've guessed this was supposed to be on mars.
but a lava map is just as awesome.
It looks like mars, I think it was based on it.
Anyway, the map is really nice, and these screens doesn't show much about it, be sure to get Orion 1.2 and you will see that it's much more than this.
heh, I'll be one of the first running to grab it on Monday
it looks like that freaking prison planet of riddick, when the sun starts to burn the surface
