PATCH OBSOLETE. Kept here for continuity and archival purposes only. New installations only require V1.0 and V1.1.
Shortly after Operation Remembrance came out, a ModDB user by the name of "phihoavt2003" alerted me to the fact that when he and some friends tried to play the mod on a multiplayer server, they were stopped by a "Corrupt Data" error. I was unsure how to fix this as I didn't know what caused it, but while working with IceSkater and BangBangOw<CP*SF> of HelloClan to get the mod running for an event on the HelloClan server, we ran into the same issue, and Ice and Bang were able to find the cause of the problem was an invalid setting in a line of code in every map. Instead of being set to the mod's name, "Op_Remembrance", it was set to "BfVietnam", as maps for the vanilla game should be. This is entirely my fault because I originally developed Operation Remembrance as a full-conversion mod which would have entirely replaced the vanilla game's files and used the same directories, and when I switched it to a conventional mod I forgot to make the change to reflect the different directory and mod name. As far as I know there should be nothing preventing Operation Remembrance from functioning in multiplayer with this patch and both IceSkater and I have been able to successfully join the test server for the mod event. If anyone else runs into problems trying to get the mod running on multiplayer, I recommend you head over to the HelloClan forum or their Discord server. When it comes to setting up and running servers, they know far more than I do.
Also, thank you to my friend TanTwo on YouTube for finding the original version of the menu song, a remix of the Battlefield 1942 theme. Thanks to TanTwo I can now credit the creator of that song, "Oscius". You can find the song on Oscius' YouTube channel here: Youtube.com

Installation: The installation is the same process as installing the mod in the first place. Simply unpack the zip file and copy the Op_Remembrance folder into the "Mods" folder of your BfVietnam directory. You'll get a notice that the destination already has files with the same names; select "Overwrite" or "Replace". For anyone who's having difficulties with installation, I'm going to make a quick tutorial video in a day or two that covers how to install the mod, how to install the patch, and how to get the game working on multiplayer even if you don't have an original copy on CD.

In addition to the multiplayer fix, V1.01 features the following changes/fixes:
Remade the menu’s background video to remove corrupted sections that caused random bursts of sound in the menu.
Fixed a problem with the UH-1D Cargo that was causing crashes on Operation Cedar Falls.
Corrected the F1 grenade ammo count from 5 to 8.
Corrected the RGD-33 grenade ammo count from 4 to 6.
Decreased the Claymore’s deployment velocity from 20 to 5 to improve handling.
Disabled bot use of the Claymore (they can’t use it properly following the above change and would only blow themselves up if allowed to use it).
Corrected gunner’s camera position on the M151A1 MUTT (M60).
Changed the SVD-63’s projectile type to the same one used by the AKM and AKMS.
Fixed the G43’s fire animation speed during ADS to allow for a higher rate of aimed fire.
Adjusted the Madsen M/50’s iron sights so the front and rear sights now line up correctly.
Adjusted the M1891/30 and M44 iron sights so the front and rear sights now line up correctly and the front post sight is more visible, making aiming easier.
Fixed a coding error that caused the MiG-17’s autocannon sound to loop infinitely.
Fixed a coding mistake for bolt-action rifles that could cause the sound effect of the bolt closing at the end of the reload animation to not play.
Changed the mortar sights so that it’s slightly easier to adjust the range when firing.
This mod very nice, keep it up!
Thank you!
hey man, i have a problem with the fullscreen mode, when i launch the shortcut it wont go to fullscreen mod, how can i fix it? thanks.
I would check your game settings before anything else. There's nothing in the shortcut that prevents the game from loading in windowed mode.
i haven't change anything yet, the vanilla game is still in fullscreen mode, but when i open the op remembrance shortcut it opens in windowed mode
I have no idea, then. There's nothing in the shortcut that would cause that to happen. It's the exact same one that I use to run my game. And no one else has had any problems. I would try copying the shortcut for the vanilla game and editing it to run with Operation Remembance. Let me know if you need any help doing that.
seems like a good idea, thank you, will try it soon
Oh, hello again. I think you should add some more forces of ARVN like: Marines, ARVN Special Forces, Regional Forces Battalion, 81st Airborne Commando Battalion,Operation Lam Son 719,etc.
About maps: An Lộc 1972, Định Tường 1972, Batlle of Dong Ha, Phước Long 1974, Xuân Lộc 1975.
Issues:
- When I was lying in the game and change the camera, the shooting is very weird.
I don't have too many ideas or issues and I still love this mod.
maybe he will added it but because he has so many project so maybe he will add it on future big updates and if this game still here 10 year later, I will still play it
I can almost guarantee we're going to see a map based on the battle of An Loc, and I would like to do the others, but I'm not sure yet. There also will be some more types of ARVN forces added.
Could you please go into more detail about the problems you were having with the shooting?
About the issues, it's hard to explain. But when you prone and shooting, it has a really weird posture ( when I changed the camera and I haven't download the 1.01v patch, after I downloaded it and try that again, it still there but less than the old one ). When I crouch and walking forward, when I stand back again and still walking forward, it has a weird animation like I'm "skiing". I don't know how to explain, sorry.
If you want, I can give you the video to show you.
Yes, I'd like to see that, because I'm having a hard time picturing what it looks like.
